Below is what my son emailed to me when we were planning to go see a shuttle but then did not make it. He said there were vendors there and port a toilets.

>> St or go back up Broad St or Orange St. to Washington and go right. The
>> store is on the left a block up.

People start arriving as early as 10 hours before launch. I believe launch is scheduled around 5.15, so I woul make sure you are there before noon to get a good parking spot and place to sit. I have gone a couple of launches and it is something that everyone including children should see. Of course the upsetting item is when the launch is delayed a day or two and the kids are really let down. It is a must see and do while in Florida.

You could also try Jetty Park. It's east on 528 all the way and follow signs. There is parking (get there early) and get a day pass, they offer a limited number. You have access to a beach, fishing jetty, simple cafeteria and bathrooms. It's near Port Canaveral, a little south of the launch pads. You should still have binoculars.
