Seeing Bright's tip for closing a bag, reminded me of this shirt folding tip. There are probably many such tips out there. So here is a thread we can shate them in. This could be very inspiring and informative.
Here is my contribution.

That's how the Japanese fold shirts - us Americans don't have the room to lay out each shirt and remember which hand to do what with.

Susan, you speak Chinese?? Wonderful!!
I've seen this video before but for the life of me, I just can't do that folding procedure.
Do you have one for folding fitted sheets? I read instructions years ago but never saw it in a video. Its very helpful for storing them properly.

Ever spill red wine on a shirt or carpet? Ever have an impossible stain to remove? This has worked on every stain ever created. Red wine on a tan shirt that had already been washed and the stain was still there. 50% hydrogen peroxide and 50% Dawn dishwashing soap. For some unknown reason it has to be Dawn. Tried others and didn't work. And don't mix any more then you need as it's shelf life is about 2 hours.

I remembered seeing the shirt-folding trick on Martha Stewart years ago. Here are the instructions in English and with a video:

I think there are also fitted-sheet-folding techinques at her website. :2cool:

well, a little splash of salt on coffee before brewing takes some of the bitterness off of the finished brew (unsure that's applicable here LOL)

OK, I've watched that video a hundred times and now have t-shirts that look like balloon animals. :o Clearly, I am t-shirt challenged. Best household tips I have are send out laundry and hire a housekeeper! LOL :joke:

I saw the t-shirt folding video years ago and practiced til I could do it, tho not quite that fast.
But it comes apart easily when you pick it up.
Instead I bought a t-shirt folding board from QVC. Works great!!
My husband loves it, and keeps his t-shirts folded to a T with it...
Got my son one and he loves it too.
Our t-shirts are folded to the same size now.
Especially great for packing...

Now that Susan has started a thread for Household Tips, I am posting the "close a bag without a bag clip" video here also.

Great household hints! I love it! Dawn dishwashing detergent can also be used to get rid of fleas from your pet. Put a drop or two in a container of water. Gently mix together. Use flea comb to brush your pet and get rid of fleas for good!

This is going to be one of the most helpful hints for the "do it yourselfer/wanna save some money" types, like me. I contacted this site a while back and recommend it highly. Very inexpensive...about $10.00, expert info, easy to follow directions, excellent follow through by the professional. Saved me about $200.00.
Try it...just ask your question. You decide whether or not to pay.

For all the folks with cell phones. (This should be printed and kept in your car, purse, and wallet. Good information to have with you.)
There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies.
Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency
tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:
FIRST
Emergency
The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find
Yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an
Emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to
Establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly, this number 112
can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.
SECOND
Have you locked your keys in the car?
Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy
someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys
In the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on
their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot
From your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock
button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will
unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no
object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has
the other 'remote' for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).
Editor's Note: It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked
Our car over a cell phone!'
THIRD
Hidden Battery Power
Imagine your cell battery is very low. To activate, press the
keys *3370#. Your cell phone will restart with this reserve and the instrument
will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you
charge your cell phone next time.
FOURTH
How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?
To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following
Digits on your phone: *#06#. A 15-digit code will appear on the
screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it
somewhere safe.
When your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider
and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset
so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally
useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know
that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there
would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.
And Finally....
FIFTH
Free Directory Service for Cells
Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for
411 information calls when they don't have to. Most of us do not
carry a telephone directory in our vehicle, which makes this situation
even more of a problem. When you need to use the 411 information
option, simply dial: (800)FREE411, or (800) 373-3411 without incurring
any charge at all. Program this into your cell phone now.

Looks like some good tips 784, however, snopes reports the second one (opening locked car with cell phone) is false. GN

Caroline,
Thanks so much for these very helpful tips. I did not know about most of them,Im especially thankful for the 112.
Dawn dish detergent will also lighten your hair a shade or two if you color it and it comes out too dark. What do they put in that Dawn????

Golfnut, I rely on Snopes, but I tried unlocking my car with the cell phone and it actually worked! Try it yourself!
Maybe it depends on the model of your car? :dontknow:

How far away was your car when you tried it? I really hope this works, I've locked my keys in the car before and suspect it will happen again.

You need 2 people to do it... One in the kitchen or out on the patio and the other one in the garage:
Lock your car and stay next to it in the garage
Call the person in the kitchen
Hold your cell phone near the car door
Have the person in the kitchen push the "unlock" button on the car's remote while holding the remote near the phone
I tried this with one person all the way up the mountain. It really works!
Since the tone comes over the phone, it shouldn't matter how far away the "unlocker" is. 040

According to snopes the signal is an rf signal (radio frequency) not an audio tone. If you hold the the car remote next to your ear when you press it do you hear a noise/tone?I will have to try this myself, but thanks for your input...GN

You're right. It's not really a "tone"
I didn't know what else to call the signal that the remote sends to the car. Just give it a try. It will either work on your car, or it won't. :dontknow: ;D

uujudy,
I am wondering about the proximity of the car to the opener in the house. I can open the car door from the keyhook. There is a wall between the opener and the car. I shall have to try it with the car farther away. Hope it works.

Kitria, it shouldn't matter how far away you are. It should work from another state! The tone/signal/frequency comes over the phone. Just hold the phone next to the car. Let us know how it works for you.

Try Nioxin. I first bought it at my hair salon but found it much cheaper on the Internet.
I had thinning hair and began using it a few years ago. It gives my hair body and my hair seems thicker now.
Someone once asked me if it really worked. My reply was...I'm not going to stop using it to find out!
