We will be making our first preview visit over the holiday week. I've been reading through the threads about what we should see and do. Thanks for all the helpful tips and advice.

I have 2 inquiries (at least for now) :)

Do any of the rec centers have an indoor pool? I'm guessing it will be too cold to swim outside. Should we pack swimsuits?

Next question - will there be somewhere that has NFL Sunday ticket so we can watch our home team play? Do residents wear there hometown 'gear' on game day?

Thanks and we are so looking forward to our visit next week.

No indoor Pools. The outdoor pools are heated to I 80 I think.
Cody's and Beef O Brady's have the NFL ticket. I am sure there are others.

You should bring your Michigan winter swimsuits. (All pools are heated)

Gator Dockside also has a lot of TVs for the games.

Welcome. You will love it here. There is no indoor pool, sorry. And residents do wear their hometown gear. And they really do support college football. In the Villages you are allowed to wear all team gear supporting any school....UNLESS you are from Michigan.

Just kidding.
Go Bucks

Or Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, etc. :icon_wink:

Enjoy your time here. We came for the Lifestyles Tour in August and closed on our home Thanksgiving week. Be sure and don't drink the Kool-Aid.:)

No need for indoor pools. All outdoor pools are maintained at 82 degrees.

Go Patriots.

I can top that! Mom and I were at our condo on St. Augustine Beach for Christmas and decided to visit TV for a long weekend. That weekend we bought a lot! We went back to St. Augustine and put our condo on the market!!

I had the design team meetings in February, they started building in March and we had our "Lifestyle Visit in April"!!!! We closed on our home in May, 2012. Talk about doing things backwards!

BTW, Go Blue! Sorry Gracie!

What we found out when we were there last week - if it is 60 and cloudy - it is too cold to swim for sure. If it is over 70 and SUNNY, it is HOT in the sun. That Florida sun makes all the difference. Next week for instance shows one day with a high of 81. And as all stated, the pools are heated.

Cody's in Brownwood is the place the Giants club meets to watch games. They have different games on different televisions.

Yes, wear your gear. It's part of the fun. Last week the Giants played the Skins and the waiter had on Washington gear. He was booed when he entered the Giants area by the Giants club. All in good fun.

Go Odell Beckham Jr.

Wow! That was quick and backwards. The week we were here in August, my wife got so GAGA about the area she wanted to buy then. Good thing that common sense took over and she cooled her jets. The home we did buy was smaller but more suited for us (and the views out the back and front are awesome). Go Hogs. Woo Pig Sooie!

Drink the Kool-Aid. It is a wonderfully cool and refreshing drink, but then you decide. I have money on which side you'll land. Enjoy! :)

West Virginia University Mountaineers know that our colors are gold and blue. But Michigan calls it maize. Now why would anyone want to be known as corny? :a20:

By the way, why did Michigan ruin BOTH of WVU's coaches that they poached? Even John Beilein is wallowing in L's. And Rich Rodriguez is a much better coach at Arizona. :girlneener:

Don't wear your Michigan gear to The Pub (the restaurant attached to Fiesta Lanes bowling alley. Unless you are playing Ohio State that week, you will not be able to watch their game. And you probably wouldn't want to watch The Game there either, unless you like being booed. Just the way it is.

Likewise with the pro games on Sundays. All TVs tuned to the Cleveland Browns, who, even though it's been years and years since they've been in the playoffs, have loyally devoted fans.

OP, you might want to state your team and someone can tell you if there's a bar/restaurant devoted to it specifically.

We'll be wearing our Lions gear. Just in case there is a snowball's chance in hell that the Lions can beat the Packers at Lambeau Field. I want to see it once in my lifetime.

So I guess my question is, where would be the best place to watch the Lions - Packers game?

BTW - My husband wears the Michigan gear. I wear Michigan State - Green! Yes, we are a house divided.

Thanks for all the fun posts. :beer3:
