We had to say goodbye to our 18 year old Siamese cat today. We still have unopened cat food. Is there a local cat shelter where we could donate the food? TIA.

I'm so sorry about your cat. I know how losing a beloved cat hurts. Bless you for thinking of other felines in this time.
Many vets have boxes where you can drop off food for shelters. I know Park Heights in Fruitland Park does and I'm pretty sure The villages Vet on 441 does.

I am very sorry for your loss. I know this is a difficult time for you.
Buffalo Ridge Animal Hospital collects newspapers and aluminum as well as food, blankets, etc., for the Sumter County Humane Society. If you drop the food off at one of their two locations the shelter will pick them up. One location is in the Pinellas Plaza shopping Center and the other is off 466 near Walmart at 748 Village Campus Circle.

SORRY TO HEAR about your baby and what bad timing around the holidays :(. The Whole Earth Pet Supply right next to the hospital in the Publix shopping plaza (also next to Koyame Chinese restaurant) takes donations for the Sumter County Humane Society pick up every Wednesday. There are SO MANY lovely pets made homeless and euthanized in the world......consider holding the food and opening up your heart to another some day......

kas52, There are some residents that feed the feral cats in Sumter Landing. I had my hubby take some food once and leave it one of the caring residents door. If you would like the address to drop it off, I can get it for you.
