Anyone think its strange that brownwood would be having music christmas night and all the resturants I called will be closed....
i know its bad for the people who have to work, but.....
Seems someone would stay open to handle the hungry people....and drinkers...
dancing on the squares
just makes me think hummmm.....

Humm, It is Christmas, The music is there for those that have nothing else going on, The restaurants and bars are closed as it is Christmas Eve.

I bet if there was no music on the square, someone would be posting "why no entertainment on the square....I pay my amenity fees"
See ya can't please everybody!
BTW what does it make you think?

Lots of people have company this time of year, and it's so much fun to take the grandchildren to dance at the squares, even on Christmas!
Merry Christmas everyone!

You should be grateful that there will be music on the square and don't begrudge the restaurant workers Christmas night off. Geeze.

You asked if anyone thinks it's strange that restaurants at Brownwood will be closed on Christmas Eve.
NO, NOT STRANGE, NOT AT ALL!
But it makes me wonder, what does it make you think?

:agree: and, there is music in the squares 365 night of the year and I bet the bar on the square is also open for all those thirsty dancers you are concerned about.

We were at Brownwood tonight and all restaurants were not closed. City Fire closed at 7. Cody 's was open until 10. We had a drink at Las Tapas at 9, and then went to WOB at 10 and food was being served. We had a great time dancing, eating, and having cocktails on our first Christmas Eve in The Villages.

I am grateful. That those who are in the service industry can be with their family on one day of the year. Otherwise my table would be empty today. Merry Christmas

We went to the Lutheran Church at 4pm what a beautiful service! We then went to Sumter for some music in the rain...we sat on the hotel rocking chairs and listened for a while...Merry Christmas!

wow, you all have big opinions and shot me down......merry christmas....
Your absolutly right that we have nothing to do....some of us don't have the families who can make it for the holidays...and ..I enjoy listening to the music and scooter is my favorite.
I think if I had a food truck, i might be able to make a lot of money on hungry thirsty people.
We just bring our own snacks and a cooler and keep our money in our pockets....

Catching up on TOTV waiting for the rest of the family to wake and as I was reading the posts this Christmas morning thought the same things - sorry you were shot down like this, but you're not alone. Seems like the Grinch may have inhabited more than a few folks in TV. Merry Christmas even so.

Kstew, not at all. I think our "big opinions" were simply normal reactions to the feeling that some should work on Christmas so others don't have to so much as cook. There ARE places open on Christmas, mostly run by people who don't celebrate Christmas. But otherwise, the wish sounded kind of selfish/entitled in some posters' eyes.
Merry Christmas, and I hope you find a good Christmas dinner.

Go, hopefully find a bar or restaurant that is open, enjoy yourself and leave a huge tip for your server. Help make someone's Christmas.

My reply was not meant to shoot you down or to be sarcastic. I was simply trying to convey restaurants were not ALL closed in Brownwood. We were alone for the holiday also and wanted to be around people so we didn't feel lonely and sad without family. We had a great time at the square. Please keep that in mind for future holidays.

......christmas night, brownwood, scooter the DJ....awesome
he actually made a comment for more than the probably 3000 people, to take a photo and hang it on the windows of all the closed resturants.....and they were ALL CLOSED..
it was so crowded that everyone complained about the drink line and they also lost a lot of business because the wait was over 45 minutes and people came back saying it wasnt worth it..... we brought our own thinking they would be closed...
the dance floor melded into the chairs by 6pm and everyone was ontop of everyone else, bumping into everything and everyone....but
as always Scooter made everyone get up, and I think everyone had a blast... i know we did...
never saw that many people in my entire life in brownwood...
just goes to show I wasnt the only one without plans for christmas night...

you must be mistaken because......
Brownwood, christmas night....not eve, not day, december 25th 5pm.....all resturants were closed in brownwood.. trust me.....i was there....with a few thousand other people..
not sarcastic, just honest...
