is anyone aware of a nice HD video or such showing The Villages from the air. I mean like a drone video flyover most/all of TV showing the area. We think it would be so interesting - and beautiful. We did see a few video 'shorts', one of which in a recent online V-Mail from TV Marketing.
It would be a hoot to get a great view of all TV's beauty from the air. It would also be a wonderful marketing tool for Sales, as if they need to entice buyers much...
Happy 2015 to all the nice TV folks...

I'm not sure that The Villages would look so beautiful from the air. All you'd see would be rooftops and roads.

I will in no way ever support the use of a drone on our own soil, or any monitoring system. I may be a lot younger than the general population, but even I've read 1984.
In this case, I know it's harmless and even I would like to see an aerial tour of the Villages and it's beauty (Many hidden secrets of the Villages worth exploring) but I could never get myself to support the use of drones. It's just an early step...

Drones are only the latest avenue of surveilance. If you fear being watched by drones, you missed a lot of the technology you use every single day that offers significantly more, ongoing invasive opportunities.

There are many and have been many many avenues for the government or anyone to spy on us. Keeping a piece of black tape over your web cam in my eyes is a good idea, the NSA and many other people already have the power to spy on us 24/7.
All I'm saying is that I don't agree with letting even more ways for them to spy on us, as I feel they're power should be stripped in the first place.
Like I said, I only contributed my opinion about drones. We're not talking about every other problem we have with our privacy being stripped away.

Drone over Sanibel was excellent. Technology for everyone has been the theme for our generation. The Space Program lives on.

Are you sure it is a drone. We've had lots of helicopter traffic south of 466A recently.

Just wondering if it is legal to shoot down a drone hovering over my home in my air space??

Probably the same as shooting a squirrel in your tree. I'd get the OK from your neighbors.

Is there a limit to the number of drones you can shoot, do they have to be a certain size, and what is the season?

Two drakes, one hen..........sunrise to sunset, except during mating season.

Haha......may sound like some good afternoon fun, but you may want to hold off. Had a guy here in S. Jersey take a shot at a drone his neighbor was flying over his backyard with his 12 Ga. cause he felt he was invading his privacy. Turns out, he was wrong! Not only was he charged with violation of local firearm ordinances, but was sued by his neighbor, and lost, for repaying all costs of his damaged drone (a couple thousand bucks or so!!). Seems that "airspace" above one's property is not the same as one's dwelling for privacy purposes.
Think of it this way.......LE would need a search warrant to enter your property to look for a stolen jet ski, however, if they observed it while fyling over your property in an aircraft, different story. They could just show up with an arrest warrant for possessing stolen property. A drone would sorta be the same thing.
Definitely some interesting times ahead......especially once Amazon gets their Drone Delivery program up and running!!
