Bet you get up and go to the kitchen as soon as you read this to check it out. Whoever looks at the end of your aluminum foil box? What a fantastic idea!

I've been using aluminum foil for more years than I care to remember. Great stuff, but sometimes it can be a pain. You know, like when you are in the middle of doing something and you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box.

Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time. Well, I would like to share this with you.

Yesterday I went to throw out an empty reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, "Press tab to lock end," or "Press to secure roll."
Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place.
How long has this little locking tab been there? I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too! I can't count the number of times
the Saran wrap roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover something up.

I'm sharing this with everyone who didn't know this and those of you who already knew it.

I hope I'm not the only person that didn't know this.

No, I wasn't aware of this tab. And I must say that if I'm heading for the kitchen now, it's not to check out the aluminum box....

You were right I jumped up and went out to the kitchen. We both looked at the boxes and you were right. I have never looked at the end of those boxes. You are better than Martha Stewart.

Yes, I knew that. Also, in case you want to check more, the Reynolds plastic wrap is the same.

Fumar, I also thank you for the tip; however, I never cook so I don't have much use for those wraps---my husband use to hide my presents in the oven. Perhaps when I move to TV I will change my evil ways

btw--I really love to read everyone's posts, and I miss all the folks I met when I was there. Wish I could be there for the ghost gathering, and I am looking foward to meeting new folks when I return :)

Luv it - didn't know about that and yesterday when I needed the Reynolds wrap I pulled the box out and showed my husband and sure enough it worked. We got a call from my daughter-in-law tonight who was thanking my husband for showing her that little item on the box yesterday when we were having a cookout. None of us knew about it. Thanks again Fumar. All my years in the kitchen and didn't know that. Duh!

Sometimes I wonder where my brain is...ok, no sarcastic remarks ??? ??? ???

I was at my daughter's house this past weekend for a birthday party for my 4 year old grandson with at least 30 adult attendees toting their toddlers...OH MY...over 40? Whew...I wondered why I was so tuckered out when we left...

I took charge of putting all the food away...and never once...even though I learned it here...did I think of telling anyone about the little hidden tabs on the sides of the Saran Wrap or Reynolds Wrap...

What was I thinking? Oh, I know! All adults there had had a few too many brewskis...they would never have remembered anyway...

Oh well, maybe next time...
