I am just stepping out from the post widower mentality. I am remaking myself yet again. My daughter moved to St Pete last Aug. She was going to to drive alone. I volunteered to go with her and share the driving chore. While I was in FL, I did a Lifestyle here and liked what I saw. One week is hardly enough time to get to know any place, so I rented a place in Orange Blossom for Jan and Feb. I rented my golf cart and am ready to go. I want to experience "The Villages" and only have two months to do it. So where do I start? I guess I start here by asking......"where do I start"?

Go to the town squares and check out the bands and dancing. Try different restaurants. If you golf then golf.

Try not to isolate yourself just with singles. Everyone, pairs, are friendly.

Have a cookout and you fix the hamburgers and ask your neighbors closeby to bring something to share; a potluck. People are wonderfully friendly.

I hope you find happiness here.

Go to a Regional Rec Center and get a copy of the Rec News and see what clubs/groups interest you. Go to a meeting or a game or a club that you have an interest in and see if you can make a connection with someone. It's always more fun, in my opinion, to have someone with whom to share things. There's so much to do here in TV, but making friends is the best part and that's easy to do if you put yourself out there. Enjoy your time here.

Get to know your neighbors (host a get together)

Join a club and/or participate in an activity (check the Rec. News which comes out in the paper every Thursday)

Join a singles club.

Check out the entertainment at all the town squares.

Smile a lot and you will meet lots of people and have a hell of a good time!!
