I just had several small biops from my derm doc...need to wait results..but I think they are bcc....basal cells.. Dr. Casper.

this derm doc uses SRT as one form of getting rid of the skin cancer..I prefer not to be cut as he did that on my leg over the summer and took forever to heal.

I read where SRT is very effective but you do need several treatments and I guess that depends on kind of skin cancer and how deep. Since I see the derm doc every 4-6months..what they found should, hopefully, be easy to treat..

Comments about SRT? Comments on him?

Thanks.

I went through the SRT for a spot near my eye and a spot on my earlobe. They did them both at the same time. Three visits a week for five weeks. You sign the radiation log and make sure that the receptionist sees it and you will be in quick. The entire session is less than 10 minutes.

The radiation tech is a competent and friendly and puts you at ease.

I would do it again if necessary.

I had 20 treatments for a basal cell on my nose at Dr. Casper's office and was very happy with it. I would do it again for anything on my face or ears.

I recently had 20 (30 second) SRT treatments for a BSC on my right calf. It is healing very nicely. I see Dr. Casper next month for a final check up. Where appropriate, I believe SRT is a better choice than going under the knife!!
