Hi All:
After having lived in Nevada for 4 years , casinos were a place for eating and entertainment, Bingo , etc ?
I'll probably need a casino fix from time to time.
Where are the casinos in Florida or close to TV ?

I can only think of three casino's in Florida. Two are in Miami and one in Tampa. They are operated by the two different indian tribes. I believe the Port Canaveral has a boat that goes out as does Tampa, but casino gambling has not been on the states agenda the best of my knowledge.

There are two Hard Rock casino's, one in Hollywood (Miami area) right off the Turnpike, and one in Tampa, right off I-75. There are also boats that go out from John' Pass (SunCruz) near St. Pete and I believe from Port Canaveral. I have noticed ads in the Village Sun for bus trips to the closer ones. Tampa is only an hour and 15 minutes away by car.

Here's a link to a casino that is not owned by the Seminoles:

This is in Broward County in Pompano Beach, pretty far though not quite as far as Miami. We have friends who live close by to it and, for those who enjoy casinos, say that it's lovely.
