THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO $1.30 PER GALLON.

This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are = tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to read this please.

Philli p Hollsworth offered this good idea.
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy gas on a certain day' campaign that was going around last April or May!
It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!

I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by this summer and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down?

We need to take some intelligent, united action.
The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to 'hurt' ourselves by refusing to buy gas .

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them
BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can Reall y work. Pl ease read on and join with us!

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $3.89 for regular unleaded in my town, Seattle.

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $2.50 - $2.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace..not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.

The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit
someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.

But w e CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gaso line from the two bigg est companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL

If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If
they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit

But to have an impact, we = need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers .
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION
PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all!

(If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people... . Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am . so trust me on this one.

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!!

I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you!
Acting together we can make a difference.

If this= makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

Let's Try Something Different.

Keep it going .

When China has told the OPEC they will take ALL the production----AT ANY PRICE......
We are dealing with a Supply and Demand situation.........
Demand far exceeds supply... AND it has only just begun........
China has built many hundreds of miles of freeway in 2007......And plans thousands of miles more in near future..........We will be seeing China built cars ..here in the U.S.A. within 5 years..... Hold on to you hat..... We are no longer the car capital of the world...
Michigan is in a downward spiral..... KATIE: BAR THE DOORS......

Again, Google "Bakken Oil fields" and then tell me how much oil is available. You never hear about this in the mainstream press. Why????

I just mentioned to a friend yesterday that with gasoline prices on an upward roll, now past $4/gallon, and not much of a peep from anyone, what's to stop it from just continuing upward to $5 or $6 or $7 or more? Call me an alarmist if you wish, but really what is to stop it?

People were on a conservation kick after the oil crises during the 1970s, but how long did it take for Detroit to help us forget and began pushing the SUVs and trucks again? How quickly we forget.... If we could somehow turn off television for 72 hours in the U.S., then you'd see people taking to the streets!

IMHO....

One more thought: We'd been asked--and told--to conserve water because of the drought, and whether it was the asking or the telling or a combination of the two, we succeeded in reducing water consumption considerably. So what happened? The water companies lost revenue and as a result are asking for a rate increase! Does it not sound outrageous?! And if we really do some serious gasoline conservation, could this too be a factor? Hmmm....

In regards to not buying gas from certain oil companies, I don't think that'll hurt them because I believe that all the oil, except for South America oil, go to central refineries where all the oil is mixed together.

I'd like to come up with some quick way of hitting the oil companies in their pocket books, but other than conserving, carpooling, and improving gas mileage, I'm drawing a blank.

What will lower the oil prices is to drill drill drill, starting in Anwar. Everytime we make an attempt to drill just about anywhere the libs and environmentalists... mostly, just shoot it down. We have the oil, people in government just need to grow some and go after it. Then you'll see OPEC drop prices like mad.

Why isn't our government doing something about it :dontknow: Why are the oil companies posting record profits :dontknow:
Why Can't we drill in Alaska where we theres tremendis deposits of oil We can relocate the Carbos if we have to

It's just like I said, it's mostly the liberals and environmentalists in government who stop it. Bush needs to grow a spine and go directly to the American people and demand we start drilling for more of our own oil. When we the people starting putting harsh pressure on our officials and demand action then we will get it. For now, we keep voting in the same ol people in congress who do nothing.

I have found a way to do something about these high gas prices. I want to invite you to do this too. If we can get our elected officials to do what's right for our country, then I think we'll start seeing some effects very quickly.

Go the the web site www.americansolutions.com and sign the petition that will tell our representatives in Washington to do something about it NOW.

Regards
Mark

Newt is 1000% correct again. It's the politicians that are screwing us, not the oil companies. Signed.

The US has plenty of oil. Alaska, this new discovery in ND, offshore reserves, and probably more. Until we get our elected officials (read that as Congress and Senate) to vote as you want them to vote, you will pay until we stop this country in its tracks. Gas will continue to cost more until it reaches $10 a gallon or more. We need to drill in our own backyard, we need to build more refineries, we need more nuclear power, and we need to stop sending all our money to the Mideast. Our $$$ are worth less, and EVERYTHING will cost you more. Food, products, housing, cars, and everything you use. And those of you on a fixed income with suffer most.

I am not suggesting we shouldn't also conserve, use solar and wind, improve gas milage and tides and any other way we can to be more independent, but at current course and speed it will get a lot worse before it gets better. Think about how long it takes to get any of these things built and in production. Drill an oil well, build refinery capability, nuclear power plant, are all 5 and 10 year lead times. We will face higher prices for at least the next 5 years if we start today. However we will not start until the current makeup or our congress and senate changes. The people we have there today don't care what happens to you, only how they can spend your money on useless pork barrel projects.

Remember if we started today you would not see any price relief for 5 years at best. Go look at the voting records and see who is stopping getting these things done before you vote. Environmental friendly and global warming need to considered and use "green" methods to get this energy, but right now it is costing all of us far more than necessary because of lack of action by our elected officials.

Again, the Bakken Oil fields in North Dakota contain billions of barrels of oil.

Continental Resources Inc. (CLR) shares Tuesday hit a new 52-week high after the oil and gas explorer said its first well in the North Dakota Bakken Shale area flowed at an average rate of 693 barrels of crude oil equivalent per day during its initial seven days of production.

The results are significant because the company is drilling in a zone below the Bakken, which could give the company twice the amount of oil recovery for essentially the same cost, said Jefferies & Co. analyst Subash Chandra.

This looks like it will be a substantial field when developed!

In poor rural areas people are desperate!! Once again it is hell to be rural and poor. I know people who are getting up at 3 am and walking 15 miles a day to do very hard work and they still can't afford food.
