This novella by New York Times bestselling author William R. Forstchen imagines a horrifying scenario where, in the course of one day, the terrorist group ISIS carries out massacres in schools and on highways across the United States. With a surprisingly small but well-organized and ruthless force, the nightmarish devastation brings America to a state of near-paralysis.
Author of ONE SECOND AFTER and PILLAR TO THE SKY, this heart-stopping novella brings home just how fragile our defenses and infrastructure really are. It is also a story of heroic efforts to save lives, while sounding a wake-up call to American citizens and their government.
Story: Bob Petersen arrives with his daughter at the Middle Grade school in Maine where he teaches, expecting another regular day but worried about what recent ominous news reports might portend. Suddenly his school -- along with many others across the United States -- is under attack. Gunmen burst in, slaughtering children and adults alike.
From the ISIS leader in Syria, to the murderous rampages throughout the U.S., Day of Wrath reveals with chilling effect how national panic and paralyzing terror at the spiraling violence can bring a mighty country to a near-standstill. Petersen's fight to save lives and stop the merciless gunmen provides edge-of-the-seat drama. Day of Wrath is a provocative work that should stimulate an intense national debate.

Any well armed and coordinated could put together such an attack. It would not have to be ISIS. It could be white militia operating from Montana, it could be Black Panthers, it could be American Indians from South Dakota. It is doubtful for coordinated attacks to happen.
A very good weapon against such attacks is for the NSA to listen in to phone conversations and to monitor social media networks. It is always good to know what subversive groups are planning before the plans are carried out.

I have been watching it during this last series of events. Would you believe that even MSNBC this morning questioned why Obama wasn't in Paris?
Some of the anchors on CNN use vague language, but I thought they did a pretty good job getting it right during this last week.
People are always saying some of us don't try to keep an open mind and only watch Fox news, well I have been watching CNN.

I don't think they could take over our schools.
I do think it is not that difficult to scare many Americans like what was done with the Beltway Shootings. I'm glad we are not use to living in a country where we have to look over our shoulder all the time or always see soldiers in the streets.

It is with much chagrin and sadness that the simple answer to Senior Citizens question, "Can ISIS ever take over our schools in America?" is, YES. Yes they can as they’ve already started.
I have pulled a paragraph from the website noted below the quote.
“In the U.S., Dearborn, Michigan: Over 100,000 Muslims, 45% of the city has settled into their first ‘no-go’ zone. The city and police officials have been sued in many cases that allege discrimination “against Christians” effectively by the authorities applying Sharia law. Dearborn-Dar-al-Islam, (a place governed by Islamic Sharia law). The new idea of ‘no-go’ and ‘no-entry’ is significant, and shockingly being upheld. They provide weapons and guards and government officials in their own societies. They build what they want on their compounds. They have schools inside that their kids are educated in. They are taught their religion in school. No separation of Church (mosque) and State.”

It doesn't take much to find something that will confirm what a person believes, whether it is true or not. Just like lots of news organizations (and I won't mention names) any fact or quote can be misued to "prove" a point.

While I hope that the naysayers are correct, I originally came across my prior site from what I considered to be a credible source. The idea that all of Dearborn is under Sharia Law has clearly been debunked and that was not in my statement nor was it ever my understanding. What I have not been able to disprove is that there seems to be a section that really *is* currently under Sharia Law.
Snopes.com only addresses the City Council and its vote while TruthorFiction (which I’ve always consider to be the more credible source) shows nothing at all. If someone can show me where my information is wrong, I will gladly admit my error. I would rather be embarrassed and publically admit it than have Sharia Law taking root in America. But that’s the way Sharia Law spreads. A little here and a little there and pretty soon it’s too big to stop. Just look at how it has been spreading around the world. We are terribly nave if we think it can’t happen here.

Well Texas has taken over over our schools; because texas has so many students the text book publishers print what is approved by the Texas school districts.
Be glad there are still textbooks in print that students are allowed to bring home where parents can see their contents.
When students are all provided an iPad to access only e-texts stored and locked in "the cloud" with log-in access only by school officials, and when all test questions and essay answers are typed by the student into remote file storage in the cloud, parents will not see what kind of ideology is being fed to unsuspecting children being tested on it in remote computer file storage.
It's the perfect indoctrination tool. And it's already in use with all the federally mandated curriculum and testing forced onto all public schools. These articles are just two of many examples:

I ask that all reading this, on the next big news story about Islamic extremists watch each and all major news channels for five minutes each for an hour. Subtle, but interesting. Pure journalism is dead on television. Ratings rule. AND the person who said you can watch too much news is right. It begins as valid interest and ends up as brainwashing.
I was so upset a couple of days ago. Too much news watching...but one is no better than the next. Enough of picking out just one. Have you watched that ONE lately for a half an hour? Could not have said this any better.
If you simply tune in one network for news then all you are doing is validating how you feel, and NOT learning anything new.
Also, insure that you supplement this tv watching with reading before you allow that opinion to become hard set in your mind. Nothing is simple any more, at least not as simple as the cable networks want to make it
After reading some posts recently, I might add that if you use google to either learn or validate or whatever, ALSO ADD AN INVESTIGATION OF THAT SOURCE YOU PICK. There are more biased, openly I might add, and "satire" things on the web....read trusted sites even if you do not agree with their spin. If you do not agree and read in detail then still disagree after fact checking, then you are forming an opinion. As I said, things are complicated...not easy to stay informed, BUT IT IS EASY TO BE LED

I think a lot of the problem is that the alphabet networks and the cable news networks now have 24 hours to fill, with talk about "something--inane or substantive--who really cares? Just fill the schedule!".
I try to read/watch media from both sides, and I really enjoy reading/watching these two decidedly liberal, constitutional (and other areas) lawyers. They are not afraid of calling out either side when they act more and more tyrannical.
To me, the focus needs to be on the cancerous trend of growing tyranny instead of liberty.
The writings of these two (in archived columns) are good for news analysis that is objective.

Ok, if you don't see what your kid is doing in school, that's YOUR fault, not the teacher, district or state. Whether you like it or not, digital textbooks and computerized testing is here to stay. I for one, as a teacher, absolutely love the digital textbooks. Students now get real video footage to go with print media that can be viewed outside of class time. I can now focus my energy with the students on synthesizing that information in my classroom. Much more efficient and effective for instruction. I teach a "flipped" classroom and found it the best way yet instruct the students of today. My kids Tweet and post Facebook and Instagram answers in my class.

I was a media specialist in charge of technology before I retired. When I first learned about the Kahn Academy I thought about the same idea. I think you get help from the teacher but you learn on your own. I wondered what would happen if the student watched the math lesson at home and did the homework at school with teachers jumping in to answer question when needed, a teaching moment. Years ago we use to say that the "teacher should not be a sage on the stage but rather a guide at you side".
The most important lesson to teach is how to teach yourself. Your strategy seems just right.
Facebook concerns me. The technology is great but I don't like the privacy factor.
I use to have classes in the library where no talking was allowed only chatting online. It was interesting to see otherwise quiet students being more verbal.
I was against ipads in my district. They may be fine for little ones but I was pushing for chromebooks that cost much less. I lost the argument back then but I think I was just ahead of the curve. And I wanted wi-fi in the library, the cafe and the auditorium only. I like networking the students, teachers and server in the classroom but having the kids online in the classroom is just too tempting a distraction. I like the teacher controlling the content. I also like how chromebooks update themselves and impervious to malware. They also function as e readers, calculators and you can't install games.
I agree that parents need to see what the children are reading and would also like to see the parents read the same books on their chromebooks too. I think the dinner conversation or anytime conversation would be fruitful and engaging.
Let me know if I can help you. Helping teachers was the best part of my job. They are so appreciative and often overwhelmed with the technology because of time constraints caused by writing reports. There were not as many reports back in the day.

Read both, very good reads and sadly a possibility in today's world!
Yes, it really makes one think. We are all so fortunate & blessed to live in this country.......but our present reality could be altered in a flash.
Not too many would survive without the common everyday necessities that many take for granted. Our comfort levels would greatly diminish, followed by our quality of life itself.
These books are a definite wake up call. Many of the "doomsday preppers" may seem far out with their underground bunkers, but how long would any of us survive without WATER...........especially in a hot climate. Or, without electricity.
Apparently (I was just informed) our Vermont town would still have water (which is gravity fed from the treatment plant up on the mountain)......so at least we could rehydrate any stock of m.r.e.'s or cook our regular food, bathe, wash clothes, use the toilet, etc.
Obviously, our freezers would lose their electricity.......so that stuff would have to somehow be cooked up quickly on the barbecue grill until the propane ran out...........but we could at least share with our neighbors...........but even with three freezers, that wouldn't last long......................the scary part is for those who are dependent on insulin, or other pharmaceuticals......many of which need to be kept cold...........again, the first book is an eye opener...........can't wait to read the second.
I always keep a full pantry; especially during the winter........so canned goods would be a Godsend.......but many things such as pasta need water to prepare..........rice needs water......etc. Soups are a good mainstay to insure survival. Beans, lentils, etc.
(The supermarket shelves would be stripped clean in days; those prepared will survive......those who scoffed at stocking up on water, food, necessities, TOILET PAPER.......well, they will be at the mercy of others as the government will not be able to help all....or even some.)
For two days in a row, we had the deer family (mother & two little ones) "grazing" under the snow in the location where the apple blossom tree used to be..........memory I guess. Sad to think that they might have to be food "if" it ever happened.........this morning they were here at 5 a.m.
Thought provoking, for sure. Great minds think alike ! Let's hope it never ever ever occurs........but with crazy foreign dictator types, one never truly knows.
Also, you guys out there might realize that your MODERN CARS will NOT operate.........anything computerized will be zapped by an electro magnetic pulse aimed at our nation.........so all of the "hippy types" who kept their old clunkers.....will be cruising around in vans or cars or trucks from the 1970's. Everyone else will be walking......or riding their horses into town.
Anyway, two great books for sure..........just to increase awareness.

First it was, but then it wasn't. Duke has withdrawn their commitment to the Muslims.

Could ISIS ever take over our schools in America? Is it even conceivable? I wonder.
After reading the opinions and doing the research, what is you conclusion?

Frankly, I fear the moral decay in this country more than anyone taking over the schools.
I also find it alarming what our own country is doing to us. We just released a number (5) of terrorist prisoners from GTMO and sent them to Yemen and neighboring countries. Just sent them to the center of the terrorist activity.
We need a real moral change in this country because before anyone can enter our schools, we will destroy ourselves. THAT is what we should be discussing and worrying about.

BUT for all the wrong reasons.
"Duke University has reversed its decision to allow a Muslim call to prayer to sound from a campus chapel bell tower, school officials announced Thursday.
Plans changed because the Durham, North Carolina, school's effort to "unify was not having the intended effect," Michael Schoenfeld, vice president for public affairs and government relations, said in a statement.
"Duke remains committed to fostering an inclusive, tolerant and welcoming campus for all of its students," Schoenfeld said."

This is a private university that receives MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in United States Federal Grants, and I feel confident that if the Jewish faith requested a signal for prayer, or the Catholic Church requested such a thing, the yelling and screaming would be heard everywhere.
This is the same country that within 24 hours of terrorists from YEMEN attacked and killed in France, releases 5 terrorists from GTMO and sent them back to their home country of YEMEN.
We are becoming so weak and dependent on our federal government that we cannot resist or do not want to resist any longer.

It will happen a step at a time.
You may or may not find my answer interesting, but I am concerned for America. While I am unable to either prove or disprove definitively that a certain part of Dearborn, MI is already operating under Sharia Law, logic suggests that there must be some level of truth to the eRumor. While it could be a complete fabrication it was more likely based on at least some degree of factual information. So instead of discounting it completely let’s dig deeper.
Here is a Reuters 1/10/12 story which reported that Oklahoma's "Save Our State Amendment," which was approved by 70 percent of state voters in 2010 that would bar Oklahoma state courts from considering or using Sharia law, was essentially laughed at by the court. A federal appeals court upheld an injunction against the voter-approved ban, saying it likely violated the U.S. Constitution by discriminating against religion.
Then this from a Kansas City newspaper from May 25, 2012, where the governor signed a bill banning Sharia Law in its courts: “Legislators supporting the bill said there were many cases around the country where judges or state agencies cited sharia law in deciding cases, especially involving divorce-related custody and property matters where Islamic code differs from U.S. law.” It goes on to say, “About 20 states have considered similar legislation but the Kansas law is the only one signed in recent weeks, council spokesman Ibrahim Hooper said.”
Here are just a couple other frightening facts I uncovered during my dig: there are 22 “no-go” zones in 9 different states and there are 35 Muslim training camps. Check out the book “Twilight in America” by Martin Mawyer and the Christian Action Network @ Christian Action Network (http://www.ChristianAction.org).
Google Kitty Werthmann to find out what will happen to America unless we wake up and take the ISIS/Muslim ideology seriously. While Snopes.com attempts to discredit her by calling her writing “undetermined”, TruthOrFiction supports the truth of who she is and that she did indeed write the piece.

I would need to see real evidence of actual approved NO GO ZONES in America. Yes, there are those type zones in local areas but not with offical blessings and certainly not to the degree which you are presenting.
I KNOW you are wrong on Dearborn and have shown that to be an urban legend. Only one incident that I can see with any authority an that was caused by a christian group showing up uninvited to a muslim gathering and chanting at them. They, the christians, were arrested and on the internet that became some kind of muslim attacking christians when in fact the christians began the trouble and were the only trouble.
I am one who sees danger and have said so, but to just say things, to me, is not acceptable at all. Without any supporting links I find this just the kind of stuff you can find on the internet. Actually, you can find sites that support alien life on earth as well.
Not making light or fun. I am just saying that while I, and have said so on here, have a distinct fear of some moves being made in the muslim neighborhood, I think it very irresponsible to simply say things that you have no way of proving with acceptable links or some kind of accreditation I am referring to NEWS links, not links that have an agenda and report anything that will fulfill that agenda, no matter the facts.

It is very difficult for me to respond to this kind of post. Over the years on TOTV, I have expressed fear of groups, people, etc..BUT in each case I expressed WHY I feared them and gave some background on which I made that decision to be afraid.
I did what you asked...not sure what you want me to find. Hispanic is the largest and fastest growing demographic in the country, so it must not be the speed of growth.
Listen, I have fear of parts of this evolving story, but anything I fear is based on investigation and facts.
I respectfully respect that if this concerns you, that you post something specific with some validation because making such generalizations as you are doing is just not sufficient to have a conversation about.
Radical Islam concerns me as well as you, but I cannot make such general statements that you are making....I believe the only way to address a problem is a discussion laced with FACTS.
I might add that if your fear is Islamic law....then I share it BUT I refer to it as a group refusing to become Americans...assimilate....and I have that concern for our Spanish speaking illegals as well. I also share, if I read you correctly, your fear of how open our borders are becoming for reasons that make no sense. We seem destined to be ruled by Pol.....L reasoning. If that was not the case, why are we so strict on our Canadian neighbors ? I think, and I know we are not supposed to say it, but I still think all of this is POL.....L !!! It feels now like a train running down hill that we cannot stop....and we do have elections to stop any such train.
Your right Rags, as far as them not becoming americans, but the facts and figures are there. as far as taking over countries like France, Germany, England, Canada, their are more mosque in England than churches, on and on, some people don't want to believe this could happen to us but it is,, We are in a 15 round fight with them, we are in about the 5th round, we are getting weaker and they are getting stronger much stronger. face facts

I actually agree with your post. However, if you were to read, at least from the references that I made in my prior post and investigate from there I think you would reach the same conclusion that I have. Youll see more than a smoking gun. From having read many of your posts I believe that if you read what I have read and referenced youd end up just where I am. Then read Kitty Werthmanns piece. If you dont share her and my concerns then I frankly give up.
And I have NO idea what you mean by there are those type zones in local areas but not with official blessings . . . .. Recognizing that there are simply those zones is all that is needed. No one has to officially bless anything to make them a threat to you, me and the rest of America. Would they suddenly become more dangerous if we officially blessed/acknowledged them? And I *may* be wrong on Dearborn, but I certainly dont think that it was all made up. Clichomatically (a college buddy of mine came up with that word) speaking: where theres smoke theres normally (sic) fire.
I actually think that you and I are on the same page, you just want more proof. I've seen enough to convince me that there is a problem. You and I simply disagree by degree.

I googled "demographics of Muslims in America"....what was it that you found alarming with the results?
NYer There are a number of articles listed, Obviously you haven't read the ones where they are just on the way to control all of the countries population wise. If you didn't find anything alarming, you didn't read the same articles.

I do not discount anything that may happen, because not one of us can know the answer, only spectulate. Is this something I am worried about at the present-no. But one thing I could worry about is that something bad will happen of any kind, and there will be those who will refuse to be concerned, and will refuse to admit what is happening. We are starting to see something like that being done this very day by releasing known terrorist from confinement back to their ground zero so to speak. I only hope we all don't regret that.
