I am considering switching to Villages Health. Would appreciate experiences/opinions!

My wife and I both use The Villages Health. I would call them capable. About what you would expect from a Primary Care Physician Group. They are attempting to establish a Specialists Group, but thus far they remain very weak.

We both have been members of Villages Health over a year. Could not be more pleased. Both of us very satisfied with our docs, Can get in same day if necessary. Never had had to wait longer than a few minutes.

Two very pleased patients (and Red Sox fans!). We go to Dr. Helene Aisenstat at Pinellas.

My husband switched from Villages Health Medicare Advantage to a "regular" Medigap plan (F). His main problem was access to specialists. The only ear, nose and throat MD who would accept his plan was in Tavares. He did like his primary care MD, Rosenblum, but since his Medigap plan is through UHC, he can keep him.

It would not matter where his Medigap plan is from. If they take Medicare, they take your husband's insurance. Medigap insurance is good anywhere in the country that takes Medicare.

It's similar to the HMO that we went to up north. We couldn't be happier! The one thing we like is that our records are all electronic and when they refer you to their specialists...the records are sent to them automatically...you won't have to do ALL that paperwork again as a new patient. The doctors are already vetted too. Sure, word of mouth may still be a factor BUT you won't run into those doctors that order unneeded tests (so they can make more $$$). There's more but as I said, we're happy!!
