Is Johnny Rockets still open in the Villages. One I know of in NY has closed and wondering if they all will be closing.

Believe me it's open and doing well. We were there for breakfast this morning as usual on Sundays and today they had people waiting for tables.
This is what happens when you serve good food, plenty of it, great service and good prices.

You get what you pay for.

I find it amusing that this is a premium, fee added restaurant on cruise ships. And here in TV we get coupons to entice us to eat there...

Not really...just look at the target population each store (at different locations) is aiming for. On Royal Caribbean, first of all space is tight and there are plenty of kids who love to go for shakes and burgers at all times of day rather than the buffet or sit at a diner table. You just dont have that target population here in The Villages year round. In addiiton , on a cruise ship, its an easy way to give a "bonus" to cruisers when they (Frequent cruisers) get a free coupon to a resturant when others are required to pay.

I don't know if you are referring to breakfast or lunch. I can tell you that breakfast cost my wife and I less than anyplace else in TV and my wife brings enough home to last her for 2 days. I've never had anything other than breakfast there though.

We were there Monday night. Always like the food and atmosphere, even if it is a little expensive for what you get. My mushroom burger with chili and Oreo "Chocolate madness" shake were great. Did get to use a $5 coupon on a $35 check.

The wait staff seemed less enthused when doing their dance routine than in the past.

We ate at JR in 2011 and didn't care for the food and they didn't honor the coupon in our lifestyle booklet, so we decided to never go back. Since they had new owners we gave them another chance, and the cheese steak sub is one of the best I've had here. Gator's Dockside at SS was other other good cheese steak I had.

You know, Thanksgiving Day my bride (of 15 years) and I took a long ride in the golf cart we rented and since every place was packed for lunch, we stopped at a Steak and Shake; very few people in there that day. 1st one we had been in since we left STL 3 yrs. ago; had forgotten how good the staff and food was. Prices at S&S are considerably better.
