Just renewed my membership since it lapsed in 1983. OK, it's been a while. Any others out there? Is there a local chapter?
I suspect I'm not as smart as I was in 83! ;)

Like Mr. Marx once said, I don't want to belong to any club that would have me.

I know there is a Mensa chapter that covers TV.

When you renew your membership you should be assigned to the closest Local Group based on your address, which should be the group covering TV.

I have moved several times over the years and each time I was reassigned to a new Local Group. It will happen again when I become a full time Villager in September.

There is no requirement for retesting. Once you qualify you're in for good.

Apparently not. They just renewed the membership when they found the records.

Bet they have to find really tough questions when they play Trivia.

Wonder if they dress like the folks on Jeopardy?

Such an exclusionary qualification as determining membership by IQ, seems about the same as determining membership by race, etc.

or athletic ability. or music ability, or art ability.

We are each given a few gifts or maybe just one. Birds of a feather, flock together.

The Mensa club is listed on page 46 in the Recreation News that came in today's newspaper. It meets the 4th Wednesday of each month except July, August, November, and December at Pimlico Recreation Center.

Thank you so much for this information. I found the article you mentioned.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting to be the butt of so many jokes just because I asked if there was a Mensa chapter here. Guess I just have to polish up my sense of humor.

Humor makes everything better, and smart people can be funny as well...although when I tell a joke at work, people tend to take me literally.
