Does anyone have answer to this question?

Why do some automakers like Toyota label their most expensive, best equipped models LIMITED? Have wondered about this.

Maybe it's because that the number of folks that can afford those expensive cars is Limited

Limited implies exclusivity and rarity, hence value. Water is plentiful although it is life sustaining. Gold is rare, precious and expensive although we do not require it to sustain life. Guess which costs more per ounce?

Going by today's standards in today's world, the price of Toyotas aren't expensive.

I guess they just want people to believe they are.

"limited" should mean that the quantity produced is thought to be less than the quantity people want to purchase. In other words there aren't enough to go around. In some cases this is wishful thinking on the part of the manufacturer. Probably true with Ferrari, probably not true with Toyota.

It's just marketing BS to make you think you're getting something special, and make you want to buy it even more than you do. Apparently it works.

It's only intended to impress those who don't understand the manufacturer's line-up. Amazing how many people that can include. In reality it means that a few non-essential frills, costing a few hundred dollars, are included in the sticker price that has been inflated by thousands.

Rather like the old-time dealer's ploy of insisting you take a new car home for an "overnight evaluation" knowing that once the neighbors spotted it in the driveway, you would be embarrassed to not complete the deal. Gotta love it!
