Selma is an excellent movie about a troubled part of American history. Definitely a movie for high school history classes to see. It's not an easy movie to watch, especially the scenes showing the first march across the Edmund Pettus bridge. But it is a movie that should be seen. Change and justice certainly do not come easily. I would give it 3.5 stars,

You were right about Selma being hard to watch but nothing like 12 Years a Slave.

It did seem to take a lot of liberties with the historical facts especially with the role of President Johnson. http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2014/12/24/selma_fact_vs_fiction_how_true_ava_duvernay_s_new_ movie_is_to_the_1965_marches.html
