What are the restrictions on sailing your own boat on Lake Sumter? Is it restricted to sailing clubs and dragon boats? Where is the launch ramp?

Thanks Bogie Shooter, I called the rec dept and Lake Sumter is "a private lake and Village residents cannot sail on it" .... only the sailing club with a permit and the dragon boats.

It is a shame that The Villages residents cannot utilize the lake.

Think about the administration of opening the lake up boaters.
What boaters, just villagers or others too?
Cost of monitoring the crazy ones with too powerful motors for the shallow lake?
I think the challenges would be greater than any benefit to opening up the lake.
So I don't think it is a "shame".
