Yesterday we attended our granddaughters high school graduation. It was a huge class of over 600 and was held in Miami University's Mullet Hall.
There were over THREE MILLION dollars worth of scholarship funds awarded. People who participated in extra curricular activities such as sports team, theatre etc. were asked to stand and almost everyone stood.
The Valedictorian and Salutorian had grade point averages of over 4.75.
There were 18 National Merit Scholars and 47 had been inducted into the National Honor Society. Over 200 students graduated with high honors.
The choir sang many songs including The National Anthem, and almost everyone there, more than 2500 people put their hand over there heart.
But there was only ONE long, long, standing ovation.
It was for the 6 young men and one young woman who were going to the military.
