Burglary Suspect

I received bulletins on my cell and home phones about a burglary suspect in our area. I live in The Pinellas. It gave a concise description of the suspect. About 15 minutes later I received another call that they had captured him. Great work by The Sumter Police.

I live in Duval and received the same alert messages. Does anyone know what just happened in our area? I received voicemails and emails from Sumter Co. Sheriff's office alert messaging system:

1/28/2015 3:36:29 PM EST - THIS IS THE SUMTER COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE . WE ARE LOOKING FOR A BURGLARY SUSPECT IN YOUR AREA. HE IS DESCRIBED A WHITE MALE WITH DARK HAIR POSS 20-30 YOA . HE IS HAVEY SET AND WAS LAST SEEN WEARING A DARK HOODIE TYPE JACKET, BLUE JEANS, HAT, AND BOOTS. IF YOU SEE THIS SUBJECT , DO NOT APPROACH, CALL 911.

We watched the action on Pinellas, which is our back yard,(literally) with the canine and helicopter. But had no idea what had happened.

A few minutes later we went out and saw multiple squad and unmarked cars at the intersection of 446A and Buena Vista and officers gathered on the golf cart path. Glad they got him.

When they ran down Pinellas with the canine we knew it was serious!! You don't see that every day.

How did you get the updates from Sumter Country Sherriff's office?? We would like to sign up.

I signed up at a new residents' orientation meeting 3+ years when I first moved here.

You know I have no idea, but last year I signed up for Sumter County Alerts which I assumed was just severe weather. This is the first time I received an alert like this. Home, Cell, and email.

Congratulations to the alert neighbor who called in the suspicious activity in the first place. Didn't turn the other way and didn't say "It's none of my business." It's right out of the old days in America. Excellent!

Superlative police work by the Sumter Sheriff. These people protect all of us. God bless them.

He was seen and reported running across 466A and entered the Village of St James and then people reported him running through yards, then into Buttonwood and people kept the police notified and he was caught.

It would be wonderful if the authorities found that this thief was the scum that stole our AED a week ago.

It was weird....my Code Red alert went off twice and I figured it was because of this incident but instead it said that places in wildwood were not getting water and once the water came back on there was a boil water advisory for 24-48 hours. I thought that was unusual since I don't live in Wildwood.

I believe bps's and internet maps and such have not been updated yet. Our friends I've in Gilchrist and when we google map them it says Wildwood. Was probably Wildwood before The Villages bought the land?
