After an emotional start leaving the family and grandkids, we finally landed in our rental villa last week. It's been a whirlwind of activity just finding our way around here. But msot of the stress has left and I'm beginning to feel guilty cause we really like it here!

Welcome to your home away from home! Don't feel guilty. We're all entitled to have some fun and relax. Friends and family will survive without you. If they really need you, they know how to reach you and you can always fly up to them in a true emergency. So, kick back, relax, find your fun activities and ENJOY!!!

Redwitch took the words out of my mouth. I am beginning to think that she and I are twins separated at birth.
I add my welcome. Everytime I even THINK about living in TV full time, I feel guilty or wish our family could be in Florida too. I am sure we will sort it out. The world is much smaller because of airplanes and cellphones and computers!

Welcome to TV. Our Grands want to skip the whole work thing and retire to TV right out of college. The 7 YO wants to retire here right now. Have a wonderful visit. :welcome:

When I told my daughter about considering the move to a retirement community in Florida and how guilty I felt for wanting her to come with me, she told me something that made it so much easier. "Mom, if it was me who wanted to move to someplace where I could make friends and have fun, you'd tell me to go for it so long as you were convinced I'd thought it out. I'm young. I have a whole life to find my way. It's your turn to have some fun in life. You raised me and did a good job. You'll be there when I need you. Let's start packing."
For such a young woman, she can be very wise. Take those words to heart. I did. At least on this occasion, she was right.

Thanks everyone - I will say; my family has been very supportive. I'm the wreck over this move but will admit, really loving the lifestyle here.
We purchased a lot and will be finalizing our choices on the home (Lantana) today. They are offering nice cash incentives so now is the time to buy, in my opinion.
Thanks again - you are all wonderful!

Yeaaaaa, Nance you did it!!!!!!!!!!! You found a lot already...good work girl. I knew it wouldn't take you very long...less than a week. How long til it is finished...is it the same 120 day deal? Which Village? Email me with all the details. So glad you are happy, makes me work harder to get there. Hugs!

Good for you. The Lantana is one of my two favorites. I bet you are building in Hemingway. That seems to be "the" place right now.
Best wishes.

Nanci2539,
Congratulations on beginning the next phase!
I remember when I went away to school my mom cried like a baby I of course couldn't wait to leave home then when I got there I was so homesick it was pathetic! Needless to say we both got over it. Ironically it was really my Dad who was the most upset about me leaving home. We all got over it and have never looked back! Hey, that's why there are trains boats and planes and true fuel is more expensive we all seem to figure out ways to travel and spend time with each other.
Live, laugh and love as we only pass this way once. Enjoy!!!

Welcome Nanci2539
So glad you are now among us. Looking forward to meeting you. Hope you will be at Chrispers on the 26th. :welcome: :welcome:
Congrats, Nanci. Isn't it exciting. I'll be leaving 2 grandkids, too. That's the hardest part. But they'll be down to visit...... We just bought a CY in Hemmingway - so if you're building there, we'll be neighbors. Fun!!!!!!!

We went with the Lantana and building in Hemingway on Dudley Terrace. Not too many deep lots available for designer homes. We wanted privacy, oversized lanai and maybe a pool. We got oversized lanai, pool and one home in back of us. Creative landscaping will hopefully give us privacy. For a full privacy lot on the golf course or nature preserves, the premium is between $100-$125K and most don't allow for a birdcage and pool. Having a pool was a last minute decision.
I don't swim, never learned and my husband is an occasional swimmer. I've had a bit of buyer's regret the past day or so wondering did we make the right move adding a pool. But it's been 90+ for days now so altough i don't swim, I think I'll like floating around!

It doesnt matter where or what you live in in TV Nanci, the lifestyle is what its all about. Im sure you will have no regrets about your pool with the hot and humid summers,
congratulations and :welcome:

Nance, Tom's reaction when I told him that you had bought a house with a pool was, "Cool, now we don't have to". I guess that means we will be over often. We'll get one with gas and we can cook at our house and float at yours.

Sounds like the perfect plan to me - now didn't you tell me that Tom just bought a new speedo!

Nanci... I'll bet you will be lounging in that pool with a cool drink in one hand and a book in another real soon.
Plus, anyone with a pool suddenly has lots of friends......
You are going to love it here.
