there have been prior threads about landscaping. a search on "landscape" will help you out a bit

one good one was by "barefoot at last". she had a post where she split the work between a stone company and a landscape company and saved quite a bit of $$$ (she did the landscape design herself)

if you need more info , either note to her or send me a message. Good luck.

I highly recommend Zack from "Have Rock Will Roll"! He did a great job for us with 11 tons of river rock.

So, Barefoot, did you have that company change/add plants, too, or did you just have the rock brought in? I think I'm leaning towards having someone do it all - design/plants/rock. I'm completely designedly challenged. We don't have any grass in our CY, but we'll want to have at least some improvements made in the landscaping - and lose the pine needles.

pm10, that's a rock only company,
there are plenty of landscape designers around who will offer a turn-key package

Marcia/Chas

We had three nurseries give us estimates on installing trees and river rock. Then I priced everything separately. I saved about $2000 by
doing that.

First I bought a queen palm tree, a hibiscus and some other shrubs from a nursery and had them planted by the nursery.

Then we replaced our mulch in front of our courtyard villa and in the side yard with river rock. Much cleaner. I got Zack from "Have Rock Will Roll" to bring in 11 tons of river rock. No matter who does your rock, they will probably buy it from "Dirt Cheap" over on 27/441 North of TV. So we went to Dirt Cheap to pick out the rock we liked. We left our back yard with grass for our dogs.

The day Zack delivered the rock, I got him to move a couple of trees and plant a couple of Knock-out rose bushes. I think he'll do pretty much anything labour wise while he is on the property. He will plant trees for you, but not supply them. You would just have to go to a nursery to pick them out.

Hope this helps, please let me know if I can provide any more info.
