Saw a commercial for this place on TV a couple times today. We can all guess why it got that name. I think the name is just a little too close to The Villages.

Completely different concept than TV but still a play on TV's popularity no doubt.

I clicked their "links" button but there wasn't anything about golf ;)

This seems to be geared more to the upper middle class or maybe even the lower upper class if that makes any sense.

$4345 per month for a 2 bedroom w/den apartment. http://www.thevillageonline.com/mgs.html

No, it is not like The Villages with an S BUT really looks suspicious that the name is so close to The Villages. Even the way it is written looks like the way our Villages is written. No big deal just interesting to me. Looks like they may be wanting to use a little of the popularity of The Villages to help promote their area.

I remember looking for the Village Computer Club (no "S") and wound up with a Computer Club in the UK that dates back to 1992.

What I really wanted was the Villages Computer Club but this "Village" label seems to be prevalent in the UK.

Maybe, they are just trying to sound British? http://www.villagesonline.com/alpha-villages/a.aspx

Since it is just up the road in Gainesville I think it wants to be The Villages with an S :) or have people think it is. Sure saves on advertising.

Seems like a lot of apartments and assisted living. Not my kind of place at all!
