I am about to close on my new home here in wonderful TV. I am thinking of adding on a birdcage and jacuzzi to my CYV. Is it worth the money? Is it too hot to use the jacuzzi 6 months of the year?

Yes, but you will love it the other six months.

Chemicals and such will be about70 bucks a month. I have a Jacuzzi, but I do my own chemicals, cost 100 a year if you can figure it out yourself. It is new to me, so don't know how much i'll be using it.

Here is what I do, for 6 months, I have the heat on the hot tub, for the other 6 months, no heat, and I use it to cool off. This works great, and I get to use the "hot" tub year round. If you leave the heat on, then the previous poster was correct, you will use it only 6 months.

We use our hot tub all year round....during the hot months, as someone said earlier, we turn the heat off and use it to cool off. We love the bird cage as well...so nice to eat outside without any bugs flying around.

I keep my hot tub on 365 days a year 24 hours a day at 102 degrees. Further, I use it every day, winter and summer. it cost about $100 dollars a year for chemicals and an insignificant amount of electricity to run it. I could not live without my hot tub. It takes all the aches and pains away.

Do you have to make this decision now? Sometimes it works out better if you live in the house for a while. My exposure made the lanai useless - too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter, so it became a beautiful sun room.
