I have a 2010 yamaha electric 8 6 volt batteries.had a high speed motor put in that goes 1 mile slower then the motor they took out.18mph top speed. He tells me to increase the speed I need to reprogram the controller.Another guy says thats bull that he put in the wrong motor.Nothing wrong with the controller. The right motor installed will increase my speed.Who to believe????

I would have to agree with the correct motor theory, if the controller was set to a normal speed the corect high speed motor should up the speed without controller modifications.
