Not a good topic for humor… a woman is dead. Say what you want about guns, but don't make this poor soul an object of mockery.
Thanks.

To receive a Darwin Award you either have to be dead, or injure yourself where there will be no more offspring. And you have to achieve that by doing something really stupid.

Sad to say, but I'm afraid that would happen here in TV if any of the elderly that "carry", try to get their weapon out in a hurry. The way I've seen some drive, they DON'T need to be carrying a weapon.

Firearm handling accidents are not unique to Villages residents or any other group. Google: accidental / unintentional / negligent firearm discharges by law enforcement personnel, for some interesting examples. (These are the professionals.)
It was my understanding that the person submitting the "carry" license application was establishing the need and the appropriate government agency approved or disapproved it based on its merits. Apparently you disagree with the process and have already identified some who don't need to "carry". What's your process?

Ok, point out specifically where I said that I disagree with the process. Sad to say, but I'm afraid that would happen here in TV if any of the elderly that "carry", try to get their weapon out in a hurry. The way I've seen some drive, they DON'T need to be carrying a weapon. People that have handled firearms all their lives can have that "uh-oh" moment; the older a person gets, the more their skills diminish in driving, handling meds, making rational decisions, handling loaded weapons, etc. I didn't disagree the process anywhere, I was part of the process.

I'll learn; however, my bride is only 54, the youngest one in the neighborhood; the neighbors let her know that right away. 😉

I think I deserve this award.
I am leaving TV to arrive home on a day when the low is going to be -7*
The high on Sunday, that day is said to be 81*
Save me Crosby

I had written the Darwin Awards back about 12 years ago (@ 2003) when I was having all kinds of problems with my 224 613 Project to get practical materials for survivors/victims of crimes into or accessible through libraries. I wanted to submit myself. They never replied. I was writing everyone and his mother back then while still living in Palm Harbor, FL. We moved though in 2005 to the Villages and I found TOTV in July of 2007.

She was a strong contender at "bra holster" ...... doubled down on using one that apparently positioned the barrel pointing up .... and won the award with killing herself and bringing a lifetime of sorrow to her family and friends.
