Harmeswood of Belle Aire

We're renting close to this village so my curiosity got the best of me. I took a walk though the other day. It's absolutely lovely. Homes are large and on at least a 1/4 acre lots and there is quite a bit of charm throughout the neighborhood in terms of landscaping and curb side appeal. It's really a quiet oasis.

Is there any history behind this village? It looks like only the very wealthy live there.

Just curious - you don't seem many homes around here built on 1/4 acre plus!

Nanci, Two houses for sale are on TV preowned website, they are $600+ and $700+ homes. They are beautiful and nicely done, but you're right, looks like you need to be wealthy to live there.

Don't know about the history behind the village, maybe someone else can enlighten us.

Harmeswood was the first premier homes built in TV, although at the time they were built I don't believe they were called premier. If memory serves me correctly they were built about 8 or 9 years ago and you could bring your own house plan. The people that live in Harmeswood could answer the "What is Rich?" thread without a problem.

I probably under estimated the lots - there more like an acre plus. The homes have a quiet elegance.

They should of built more communties like this.
I have a very wealthy friend who won't buy In the Villages because the homes are too close together.
Another example of how things have changed through the years and not always for the better.

Premier homes have been available in TV long before Harmeswood was started.

When it became apparent that the needs of some folks with lots of money to spend on retirement homes were not being met with the group of available premier homes, it was then that a new group of homes were built in section close to Tierra Del Sol called The Village of Allende. All homes there are on a single street with only one entrance off of Palo Alto. They were very large compared to the premiers of the time. They had all kinds of upgrades available and most lots backed up to golf course. There were only a few homes on opposite side of street where a horse farm is located. These homes sold quickly despite the high price and most have somewhat larger than standard or upgraded lots. Shortly after this experiment, TV decided that a real market opportunity existed for large upscale, very expensive, homes with larger lots (1/2 acre plus). This was The Village of Harmeswood. The success of Harmeswood and the continuing demand for these homes has resulted in the increase of "estate" homes situated throughout TV.

These types of homes can now be found adjacent to many newer championship golf courses on expensive, larger "view" lots.

10 years ago in TV the price for a "Premier" home was under $200K.
