trip to MCO..what to do along the way?

If you go to and from the Orlando airport....what do you include on this trip? Food, shopping, sites? Seems like a waste to just go up and backall the time.

Are you taking the Florida Turnpike? It's just over an hour's drive to the airport.

Usually if I'm going to the airport, it's just to go to the airport. You could exit onto US 441 Orange Blossom Trail at 55 mile distance and see Florida Mall, or exit I-4 East to the first exit and right turn to The Mall of Millenia. Even closer to TV is exit Toll Road 429 to Disney/Tampa to the first exit to Winter Garden Village.

We have thought about stopping and watching the shootings but usually only allow enough time to get to the airport. ;)

I like to stop at Total Wine & More (http://www.totalwine.com/) in The Mall at Millenia. They have a huge inventory of wines, beers and spirits. I have found some rare items there. You can check their inventory on their web site. Although I have never done it myself, you can make your purchases online and just stop at the store to pick up your stuff.
