What's up with the gas station on 466A at Colony Plaza no longer accepting credit cards? How long do they think they will stay in business doing that? Their gas is already higher than the stations on 466 by Southern Trace. Does anyone know their reasoning?

G2000....

I've read several news articles recently that this is becoming an increasingly common business practice by gas station owners....they claim the high cost of accepting and processing credit cards is squeezing their bottom line too much. More people are using credit cards with the higher cost of gas.

So, this station is not alone in this practice....between no credit cards and their high prices, they will struggle to build a loyal clientele.

villlages07, I read the same thing,
the gas station owners pay a few percent to the credit card companies, and when gas was $1 a gallon, no problem. At $4/gallon, it eats the entire profit and they start losing money.
I bet the practice will spread.

Several days ago, gas there was the same price as the Shell station on 466, 3.97/gal.

I just talked to my neighbor and he was in there earlier today and the guy behind the counter told him that they are closing at the end of the month.
