Anyone have advice on cell phone options in The Villages? :dontknow: Moving (well, mostly, anyway) to TV in late June, and need to get cell phones (20. Who has best service, prices & packages in that area?
Thanks.

We have always had great service with our T Mobile, and they are priced right compared to the other major players. We were down in TV in October and wanted to be sure that we would still get great service there as well. We had no problems. We were everywhere in TV and never had a spot with no service. We checked with them about changing our phone numbers to a local number when we move, and they have a small fee for that but they said it would be no problem. We will definitely stay with them when we move.

WE have NEXTEL and have no problems with either the phone service or Direct Connect (DC). Also great connection all the way from VA to TV along I-95 and 301.
I would definitely stay away from SPRINT. Recently I had to get a new telephone and they were pushing the new Sprinit Hybird phones...Sprint for phone servie while also having DC capability...it was the worst phone and connection I ever experienced.

DrDodge,
Not familiar with trac. Is that a service provider, a phone, both?
Thanks,

I have Sprint and have great service in TV..........
Sailor has Verizon and service is great........
Only here in NY do we have to stand outside to talk on our cellphones.

I also use Tracfone...it's great for those who are minimal users of cell phones. The per minute cost is kinda high, but, there are no minimums. It is a prepaid service. I buy the annual service for about $100 and get 400 minutes; unused minutes roll over to the next year. Have a local 352 number...have "local" calling (one unit per minute) for most of the east coast. So far reception in all of TV has been fine as well as everywhere else I've travelled with it.
Again, this is ideal for someone who just needs an occaisional cell phone for emergencies, airport calls, minimal mobile needs.

Thank you all,
We are driving to TV Wednesday, the 25th to move in (Partially) at our home in Mallory. Our plan is to come down when we can, while we continue to try to sell our home in Destin. We're looking forward to at least part-time residence in TV.
Thanks again for the information,

This looks better than 1-800-free-411, that service gave you the number but didn't connect you to the business. So you had to have a great memory for numbers, or you had to be able to write it down when they gave it to you. Not always possible when you are driving. This looks great, thanks for the tip.

Last month while staying in Mallory I had limited reception with Sprint in the lower areas.
