:swear:Owners - Beware that if you place a free For Rent ad on Zillow.com it will redirect you to a site called Postlets. Once you create the ad, it will appear on Zillow.com under Rentals.
I did just that and then received a few inquiries. Then a lady called me and said that someone else had contacted her about her inquiry on my property and that they claimed to be the owner. They used a different name than mine. They then asked her personal questions and wanted to begin an application process. She became suspicious and contacted me.
I suppose that this scammer somehow intercepted the inquiry about my property. I have since removed my ad. I did see the warning at the top of my ad that said "Beware of scammers..." and I guess that Zillow knows there is a problem.
"Free ad" could mean trouble for you if someone "rents" your house and collects money without your knowledge. I will avoid such sites in the future.

We advertise on a common site that vacation people rent from owners. Some how our entire write up and pictures showed up on craigs list. The rate was considerably lower and they some how changed the owner contact. We don't use craigs list and the only reason we found out, was a previous guest saw the house on craigs list and notified us. We notified craigs list and it took about 3 days to have it removed. From what we were told, this happens often and an owner is the one caught in the middle.
