Hi Everyone- I appreciate you so much. We will be there within the month for a looksee. Could you please recommend a realtor for inside THE VILLAGES and a realtor outside THE VILLAGES for the MLS listings? I'd really appreciate not going in cold. Thanks in advance!!!
Also any help with FSBO info. would be appreciated too.

WE absolutely love Jim McLaughlin from The Villages.
We haven't used an outside realtor but if we had gotten around to him we would have chosen Lyle Gant. He has the most information on his web site.
Have a wonderful time while you are here. We came and didn't want to leave. YOU won't believe it.

Our outside realtor is Jerry Townsend. He seems very nice and gave us lots of good info. He lives in the village of Glenbrook and his office is on 466. You can check out his website at www.jerrytownsend.com.
I just purchased a patio villa in TV. My outside agent was Bonnie Manross from Remax Premier realty (see ads in Village Sun). I saw a number of nice homes with her. However, I purchased from The Villages and my agent was Marilyn Chmielewski (352-753-2270). She was great and I highly recommend her. She is able to focus in on what you are looking for and is very helpful in the process. If you call her, tell her the other Marilyn recommended her.

Once again, you guys come through. Thank you so much. I tried the search but am not that good at computers and couldn't find anything.
A strong second to Gracie's recommendation of Jim McLaughlin. He is great to work with.

:agree: Handie
He seems to cover all bases and his web site is wonderful! He has the most complete synopsis of homes in TV with not only listings, but also floor plans. His site, to me, is better than the official Properties of the Villages realty site.
I will contact Lyle when I'm ready to upgrade to a larger home.

Hardest working salesperson in The Villages has to be Debra Park -- outside, try Tom Heller-- don't forget FSBO -- Lyle's web page is helpful -- also, some people miss the new homes special offers page on The Villages pages -- Good luck --

Another vote for Lyle Gant as an outside realtor  Found us our dream house with no hassles and handled the entire transaction like a true professional.
Cathy Peterson of the Villages sales teeam was great when we bought our CY villa in December.

:) We highly recommend Justin Wilson inside TV.
He was absolutely wonderful to work with. We closed by mail since we were out of town. He did it all! Plus when we arrived, he showered us with wonderful gifts.
When we were shopping for new homes, we met Justin at an open house. We were currently working with someone else but found that Justin gave us much more information than any others we have dealt with in the past.
We can't say enough good about Justin Wilson.
Good Luck on finding a home and enjoy the process, it can be a lot of fun as long as you are working with someone who you like and trust.

Another vote for Lyle Gant for an outside realtor. When I came down in May he took me around and was extremely pleasant and professional. I ended up buying from Properties of the Villages because they handled "the house" that I wanted but Lyle was gracious, knowledgable and willing to answer questions.
I had a wonderful time looking- looked at 15 + homes in two days but I really enjoyed the process of comparing and seeing what each had to offer. After a while I knew exactly what I wanted and when I walked into the home I eventually bought, I knew I had found it! It just felt like home to me! Good luck and enjoy looking!

It seems to me that TV sells itself. Still I was apprehensive to buy directly from TV. I chose an outside realtor, Brad Chadwick of ChadSelect Realty. Everyone in his office seemed to go above and beyond. As a newcomer I found the added service invaluable. Brad was there to gently offer up his professional take on things as well as his personal opinions when I asked. He steered me in ways that looked out for my interest, even when it meant he didn't make as substantial a commission.
His office is in Lady Lake, he lives in TV and owns several homes there. There will be no shortage of realtors in this economy. Many are upstanding. Many others just want to make the sale. At this stage in life, I couldn't risk going with someone who didn't have Brads depth of knowledge and breadth of experience.
At least give him a call. I think you'll be glad you did.
