The 23rd track on Frank Sinatra's Sinatra: New York is the song is "House I Live In. The lyrics begin "What is America To me". I wonder how that may have changed over the years, generation to generation. What does it mean to us, what does it mean to our kids and what do we think it will mean to our grand kids and beyond?

Living the good prosperous life and enjoying all of our freedoms, especially being retired, and doing what we want, with whom we want, whenever we want.
I don't think it will change much, for the forseeable future. The system set up by our forefathers seems to be alive and working well, despite the problems that occur.
America is the greatest country and will continue to be so.
Ed: I think it won't be long until this thread, turns political. IMHO

I always think of that song "America the Beautiful" when someone asks a question like this. America is such a land of diversity in so many ways -- physically, spiritually, politically, socially, racially, etc. It is that rich diversity that makes us so great.
