Home Inspector?

Can I get some recommendations for a good home inspector? We are coming down in Sept to look in Earnest for a home and will need to have any potential property inspected.

I came down to look at homes in May and had the house I was thinking of buying inspected by "Best Property Consultants" (J. R. Raspel). I was extremely impressed- he spend 3 hours with me, going over every inch of that house (I ended up buying it!). He was thorough, courteous and knew what he was talking about. He took many pictures, looked at everything (inside and out), tested every outlet, plug, appliance and the AC system. I have never seen such a thorough inspection. I received a report as well as a CD of the report and pictures. His office number is 1-888-730-2272. I would definitely recommend him.

You also see a few recommendations on this site for Pat DeGioia, a Villages resident and home inspector. He's done warranty and pre-purchase inspections for a number of us. He knows the local construction, has good contacts/relations with warranty department, and is very thorough.

His # is 352-205-0180.

A year ago, he charged $199 for an inspection, including a return/followup visit to ensure everything had been fixed correctly.
