What is the best route to follow to go from The Villages to Disney World? Our hope is to try to avoid as much traffic as possible. (We'll be leaving from the Brownwood area.)

Also, I was wondering if you found the parks to be more crowded on the weekend, versus during the week?

Thank you for your suggestions!

I go 301 to Fl Turnpike to I-4, but there are lots of opinions on this. For crowd estimates, I use a pay website called touringplans.com, which is tied to the Unofficial Guide to Disney book.

I use 301 to the turnpike to 429 south to Western Way. It's toll roads, but it has less traffic than the turnpike and I-4 for me. There is a shorter way but it is more convoluted and hard to describe that gets you into Disney through the north part of the park where the employees park and comes out by the Grand Floridian.

Have fun.

I agree. I believe that it is Turnpike Exit 267A to route 429. Take Exit 8 off of 429. It says Hartzog Rd / Disney World. Then just follow the signs to whatever park you're going to .

Much less congested and simpler than Rte 4.

Ditto! Hey, maybe we could all chip in and have a monorail built right to the Magic Kingdom!

Turnpike to 429. Easy drive, tolls on both.

Or a bit further south Exit 6 to Rte 530 on the south side of DW.

I like 27 south to 192.

I've come back that way when we stopped to eat on 192. It's much, much longer.

And be sure to get a SunPass so you can bypass all those toll booths!

Last week it took me approx. 1.5 hours from home near Spanish Springs to parking lot at Hollywood Studios and same a few days earlier to transportation and ticket center. No traffic either time

I live in the historic district not far from 27/441. It takes us about an hour and fifteen minutes to any of the four parks.
