We bought beautiful front loaders 7yrs ago when we moved in. We have had to call repair service several times as the digital parts keep needing parts replaced. Am Wondering if I am better off just purchasing a less expensive w/d when these go. The appliance service man told me the average life of an appliance is 7 yrs now

I will be surprised if my front loaders last 7 years. When I replace them I'll go for basic units that are reasonably quiet - if they make them. I bought top of the line Samsung. Not worth what I paid for them. Have only used the steam features a couple of times. When I bought them I was replacing Maytag units that were 23 years old. Definitely don't make them like they used to.

Our Samsungs are 8 years old and on their third move. They run like Swiss watches.

When we moved in, we were told to stay away from front loaders. We have Samsung HC top loaders and have no problems!!
