In Savannah: Mrs. Wilke's Boarding House. Southern style sit down at table with other folks and they bring the food out. Really good.

Old Town Trolley Tours...get the 2 day tickets...lots to see, and a pretty good price break.
Try the Lady & Sons, probably the best fried chicken I've ever had.

Take the Tour Bus first. It will point out the areas you may want to either get off or come back to. You can get off the bus and get back on. Lots of bars and restaurants along the river.

The Grove Park Inn (now owned by Omni) is by far, the best place for lodging and dining in Ashville, especially for a short 3 day visit. It is the perfect combination of views, ambience, food and history. They have top-rated spas that could easily fill one of your days! Its location is great for day jaunts to the Biltmore Estate and the Ashville artist studios/shops. Don't pass it by even if you only do lunch. You won't be sorry.

Curious why you chose Helen, Ga rather than Dahlonegha or Blue Ridge?
