I think you will have better results with engineered wood rather just laminate

Royal Palm installed laminate flooring in all three bedrooms.
Price was reasonable.
Installers work for the company, not day contractors.
Came at 8AM, done by 2:30
Did a superb job.
Cleaned up all dust etc.
Asked for no money up front.
They also installed hard wood for us a year ago.
Highest recommendation for Royal Palm.

We had a similar experience with Villages Flooring in Fruitland Park.
They installed laminate in our living room and carpet in our master bedroom.
It's great that there are so many reliable flooring shops around.

Doesn't a choice of flooring depend on the owner's lifestyle?
We choose laminate because it's more dog-friendly. It doesn't scratch.

I had laminate done in my house this week. I had Wildwood Flooring do the work. They removed the tile first and were IMMACULATE with that nasty project. They draped my entire house wherever the tile dust could have gone. They cleaned up and took with them all the debris from tile and old carpeting.

They are owners with employees working for them directly. No day laborers. They are fast and particular about matching seams and color variations. I cannot say enough about how good these people are. Plus... They are pleasant to be around and not sullen, non-English speaking workers.

Floors of Distinction wanted $4 more per square foot for the same floor plus charged for removal and re installation of moulding.

We used Village Flooring and were pleased with the results. Armstrong Alterna in the Kitchen and Laundry. Mohawk laminate in the living and Florida room. We kept carpet in the bedrooms. I agree with Barefoot, there are a number of reliable flooring shops around.:a040:

I work for Shaw and we make both laminate and engineered wood.

When we bought in The Villages our new house from inventory had Mohawk carpet. We replaced it with Shaw's Epic engineered hardwood and had it installed by Floors of the Villages located in Colony Square.

They did a great job.

Shaw's Epic engineered hardwood has the same surface treatment as our laminate to reduce scratches.
