We are within 12-18 months of becoming "Villager's"....obviously homeowners insurance is one of the issues that must be resolved.

While I have read many horror stories about this issue in Fl....I am very interested in getting some specific information.

I contacted the company that unsures my current home (USAA) and they do not write policies in Fl at this time because of recent Fl legislation concerning the $$ companies can charge for coverage.

Bottom line....can anyone share some information on the availability and approximate cost of (yea...i know...it depends on the house, etc) of this type of insurance.

Tank,

Cost is probably not as bad as you fear....range from about 600 to 1400/year depending on size, age, construction etc.

This has been discussed several times on the forum, using the SEARCH tool above and typing in keyword "Insurance" yielded these three threads pretty quickly:

Villages07 has it right on the cost, and availability is not an issue unless you were to
purchase an older, manufactured home, then it might be.

I too had no problems getting home insurance...multiple quotes and I thought reasonable...
