Hi. I'm looking forward to moving to TV in the next couple months, but realize that I'll miss my beauty shop "gal" when I move. Any recommendations of a good place for cut and coloring? The shop I frequent now uses Redken products.
THANKS!

I just found a great place in Wildwood called "Hair and Nails". They not only do hair and nails, but also massages, pedicures, and offer tanning.

It has a fantastic owner whose name is Annette, reasonable prices, personal service, and friendly atmosphere. PLUS....they do an A+ job!

I tried 3 places before finding a great stylist named April at Bellas on Bichara Blvd near Spanish Springs. Got the recommendation from a neighbor who has a great looking cut

It took numerous tries for me and finally after over a year, I found Kevin at Salon St. T.
He is excellent.
Salon St. T - located in the plaza on 441 where Sears and Isabella Restaurant are.

Good luck..

Ask for Jenny at the Salon Professional Academy. (near Walmart off 466) Tel 259-6717.
She is GREAT and inexpensive. Seeing her for a pedicure today. Got cut and color yesterday.

Try any of the 3 stylists at Urban Hair Salon on 466 across from Walmart near Bargins and Treasures. Small salon , unrushed service and talented girls.

Got a great cut and highlights for half the price they charged at Salon T.

Kevin is good but way over priced. He is very busy and I felt like I was just another cut, squeezed into a overbooked schedule.

Thanks Beady,

I will give Urban a try. Problem is for my hair, Kevin gives me the perfect cut.
However, because of his price, I look forward to trying the Urban Hair Salon.

Thanks, everyone. I'm taking notes. I'll be happy with any stylist that can deal with my cowlicks and doesn't charge in 3 figures!

How are the prices at the Salon Professional Academy verses Urban Hair Salon? I'm moving into TV and will be needing color and cut in the next month or so but a little short on funds with the move and all.]

Wiw: I also used Kevin, as did Mom2Five, Beady and Hyacinth.
I thought Kevin was very professional and a very creative stylist.

I tried the Salon Professional Academy without any luck at all. I know some people swear by them, I just didn't have good results. Just remember, they are students.

Now Beady has found a stylist at Urban Hair in Oxford that she likes. Closer to home and less expensive. I plan to give them a try when I return to TV.

Salon Professional Academy:
Shampoo, haircut and style $16
Color and Style $27
Highlights $29
Manicure $10
Pedicure $22

Jenny will be there until Nov., and she is good.
May take a little longer as students work with their instructors checking every little thing.

One of the owners, Victoria, at Urban Hair in Oxford did my hair for the first time a few weeks ago. She gave me advice no other has ever given me, a haircut that for once in my life took control of my out of control cowlicks, and charged only $25! I wish I could take her back to Michigan with me!

This is one top notch hair salon! Thanks Beady for the recommendation!

Wow. I am used to paying close to fifty dollars for a cut and my new friend and neighbor in Hadley said that she had gone to the same stylist for many years in the Chicago area and he charged $72 for a cut. (Her hair is gorgeous.)

I am glad to hear all of this advice. I have let my hair go white. It truly is white not gray. I have not colored it since it returned from it's chemo vacation three years ago. I wonder if I should color it again.

If you know me, I don't mind at all your being honest.

GG, I think your hair is very pretty in the photos. I'm sure it's just as pretty in person. Don't change!

I had my hair cut by Erica at Urban Hair today and so far I am very pleased. Definately a much mor relaxed atmosphere than Salon T. I never really know for sure until after I wash my hair but so far I think it turned out great.
