We had our closing in may on our villa in Hadley's Bainbridge. Does anyone know how the above services will be billed?

at the closing, we arranged to have ours drafted from our checking account.
I'm guessing they'll still send a statement each month.
I believe there's a base rate, don't know any more yet.

We get a monthly bill for water, sewer and solid waste (trash). They just recently added trash to the bill as a cost-saving measure; it used to be billed separately.

hi neighbor. Was the bill part of your ammenities bill? Aren't you in a villa as well. What amount can I expect? Thanks

Hi Tom,
The amenities bill is sent separately...don't know why...perhaps because they are paid to different Villages entities...SLCDD and North Sumter Utility. Our last water/sewer/trash bill was about $75 and it is largely a function of how much water you use...water is precious and expensive here...

Just as a warning: for those of you (including myself) that are seasonal. Watch/check your utility bill very carefully. We just got one for 5/27 thru 6/25 and we were being charged extra for our sewer and it stated that our water usage was 9200 gal. for that time frame. The problem is..........WE WERE NOT THERE....When my husband called them, they went out to check the meter and of course found no problems..As he talked further with the rep. she told him that our bill for this month shows only 20 gal. of usage. My husband then asked her if she can see the problem we are having with the prior bill vs this newest one? Last month we were not there and used 9200 gals. and this past bill, again we were not there and only used 20 gals. Of course she agreed that she could relate to our concern, but if they don't find anything wrong with the meter, she doesn't know what we can do. We are waiting to hear back from them :cus:

Our house, south of 466, has two water meters (on for potable water and one for irrigation). Is your irrigation system watering the lawn? The 9000 gallons could be correct depending on the size of your lawn.

We have two meters as well. One for the potable and one for the irrigation.
It is the one for the potable water. Don't think it is the irrigation one, since we have a Court yard villa and the lawn area isn't that large. The irrigation one is set to only run once a week, at that. But thanks for your thoughts...We are certainly stumped.. :dontknow:

I am so glad for the heads up on their error. I have sent it on to Hubs who is out of town on business, as he is the bill payer. I have to say the cost of water is less than it is in West Chester, Ohio. I also am glad for the reused water for irrigation. I am getting a bit green. Although I think the old ways taught to us as children are green enough.

I have confirmed when I changed my mailing address for billing to NY that as of Aug billing the water, sewer, trash will be added to the monthly on one bill for all as the Co's have combined.
Thanks for all your input guys

Twynsmom,
On occasion, sprinkler head breaks off and when they do, the amouint of water which escapes during a regular 20 minute cycle could be tremendous. It shoots into the air like a geyser. You would of course only know if someone is present during your watering cycle. It happened to us but fortunately it was one in the front, and one of my neighbors saw it and shut down our sprinkler and left us a note. George

I set the C watering program on a five minute cycle for all zones with no start time. On occasion I select the C program and run a manual all statons. I can then walk around and check for leaks and bad spray areas. When done, I go back to the normal A watering program.

In addition, per 6-6-08 letter from SLCDD, "starting July 25th, the amenity charge will appear on your utility bill as a separate line item" [North Sumter Utility].

Thank you George, but our problem isn't the irrigation water, rather the potable water. We do have someone checking the place for us and they haven't seen any problems. We think perhaps the meter was read wrong or not at all at some point and we didn't catch it, and now it has caught up with us, or someone is using our water from the hose??? :dontknow: Who knows. I don't think we will ever know.. :'(

My neighbor had a problem. The lawn person noticed that the grass was awful green around our water meter box. It turned out that the neighbor's pipe was leaking at the meter. Since they do not pull the lid to get the reading it probably was going on for a while.

It certainly sounds like (1) bad meter, (2) erroneous read at some point, or (3) a VERY significant water leak...have you checked to see if you have a toilet that is running or cycling (might not be noticed when home is check)? 9000 gallons is a LOT of water!

I suppose we can rule out #1 as the water company says they sent someone over and checked the meter. But very possible it could be #2 and/or #3. :agree: 9000 gal is a ton of water especially for a Villa! Friends have a Designer house and their usuage for the same time frame was around 3500. We are due back next month so we will be able to delve into it further. Thank you everyone for all the help/suggestions. wav
It was in the paper that all charges will now be comming on one bill Your Amenity bill. I think it will start up in August.
