Boomers post under Rats and Alligators got me thinking. Yeah, I do that sometimes...really... ;)

She mentioned a crocodile song she had sung to her grandchildren. That started my brain churning...no wisecracks from anyone...

What came to mind was a song I had never heard until a few years ago. Maybe I'm sheltered and maybe all of you know the song from years ago, but not me. Well, it has become a favorite of mine and I sing it all the time even though it's a Christmas song.

I'm gonna share my favorite animal song and am hoping you will share yours. Ok, ok...this may be silly but...

What a wonderful bird is the pelican.
His beak holds more than his belly can.
He holds more in his beak
Than he can eat in a week.
And I don't know how the hell he can.

My father taught me this when I was four. Not sure if he was the author.

Just make up your own music. ;D

I love pelicans! What a funny little song. I will sing it to my granddaughter but will change it slightly to: I don't know how the heck he can. When the grand swears for the first time, I don't want to be the one who taught her! ;D

OK, this is not an animal song. But just sit back, relax and watch the sheer innocence and joy. This is just for a short TOTV break.

enjoy, chels

Alice the Camel
Written By: Unknown, Copyright: Unknown

Alice the camel has five humps.
Alice the camel has five humps.
Alice the camel has five humps.
So go, Alice, go.

Alice the camel has four humps.
Alice the camel has four humps.
Alice the camel has four humps.
So go, Alice, go.

Alice the camel has three humps.
Alice the camel has three humps.
Alice the camel has three humps.
So go, Alice, go.

Alice the camel has two humps.
Alice the camel has two humps.
Alice the camel has two humps.
So go, Alice, go.

Alice the camel has one hump.
Alice the camel has one hump.
Alice the camel has one hump.
So go, Alice, go.

Alice the camel has no humps.
Alice the camel has no humps.
Alice the camel has no humps.
Now Alice is a horse

I have been looking for "Stewball was a Racehorse" on youtube. I can't find Peter, Paul, and Mary's version. I found two others. The first one is a couple of guys singing it for somebody they know. (They spelled a word wrong on their little message thing, but that's OK.) These guys are having fun. And I think they might even have gray ponytails, but I can't tell for sure. Then I found another version with pictures of horses.

My "Never Smile at a Crocodile" contribution is still over in the alligator thread and I have to get out of here today. But I hope you like Stewball. I bet that you will not be able to stop singing along with this song.

Maybe you will like both of these versions. I like the two guys best. But I hope the song does not make anybody too sad again about the lost horsepark.
