In case you might be interested. Patti Lupone on 4/30 at TV Sharon theatre, $150 per pop. Less than 2 weeks earlier, same show at the Patchogue theatre in Patchogue NY, Ticket prices from $45 to $75. The lady is 65 years old and was a star 20-30 years ago. Wanna bet it ain't like it used to be?

I saw her in NY (I live in Maryland) on broadway not that long ago and she's still pretty darn good. And tickets there are $150 for the cheap seats. I'm going to be in TV in May but would've loved to see her. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Of course, when you add the cost of airfare to get to Patchogue, $150 sounds like a pretty good deal.

I disagree with the OP in that we should wait for reviews of her performance, before she is trashed. IMHO
I always thought she had a great singing voice.

Looks like the show will be a sell out even at $150.00 and the request for formal attire.

She was the original Eva Peron in "Evita" on Broadway and won a TONY for that performance. She also won a TONY for her portrayal of Mama Rose in "Gypsy", and has numerous other TONY nominations. She was Fantine in the original London production of Les Miz. She also has 2 Grammy awards, and has appeared on TV and in films multiple times. She is a true international star. And yes she is 65. I'm 66 and still performing, thanks to the opportunities we have here in TV. She probably is a little better than me though. She's a year younger. :BigApplause:

The tickets here at The Sharon for Patti LuPone are about 70% sold with 3+ weeks to go.
When tickets are selling out, who cares if some think she's a nobody??
And about the ticket prices being "too high"…..A lot of people here do not golf and are therefore not spending $200 each per week on golf at the championship courses and off campus. But maybe they DO want to spend $300 for theater tickets once a month, or a couple of times per year.
Each to his own!

Keep in mind that the show is part of a gala evening with Champagne, hors d'oeuvres, and pre and post concert entertainment.

Patti LuPone has a strong theatrical voice. If you have ever had the pleasure to hear ( and watch ) a true Broadway performer ( Artiest) you will understand my meaning. Her talent ( like many artist) has not faded or degraded. The previous post of bandsdavis details Patti LuPone 's performance history. She has not been a media darling and in the limelight outside of Broadway followers and music buffs. I had the pleasure to see her and Mandy Patinkin ( Yental ) at the State a Theater in Cleveland , Ohio a few years ago. I did pay about$100+ for my ticket.
If you enjoy a talented voice and entertaining evening she is worth it.

Hubby and I saw Patti Lupone and Mandy Patinikin on Broadway a couple of years ago. We had seats close to the stage and it was an amazing experience to watch these two pros do what they do best. Patti's has great stage presence. They gave an excellent show.

Exactly! There's a difference between talent and taste. While I respect and can appreciate Patti Lupone's talent, I wouldn't go to see here if she was playing the squares. That's not to say that she's not talented or doesn't have a great voice. She's just not my cup of tea.

Saw her as part of Broadway Series in Cincinnati. While she has a wonderful voice, she did not sing the more popular, recognizable Broadway tunes one would expect such as from Evita so we were very disappointed.

Thanks for posting - very much like Ethel Merman's voice. I am sure it will be a great opening night and I'm sorry I won't be there to see it. But, I will be there for the Ballet and the opera ....................
