I put this in The Villages forum because as many of you know his parents live here in TV. I enjoyed watching him on Television. He was a great Press Secretary. I loved how he kept the reporters in line. Only 53 years old.

He will always be remembered as a fair and honest journalist and its terrible when someone so young and decent leaves us. Condolences to his family, and espcially his parents in TV.

Tragic the death of anyone so young. I too had no idea that his parents live here in TV; our heartfelt condolences to his family....

The standard kudos to Tony Snow and my condolences to his father and stepmother. One cannot help but be impressed by the way this relatively young man faced his grave illness at a time when he had seemingly reached the peak of his professional and personal life. Living in the DC area, I often heard Tony on local radio (WMAL) chatting in a very informal manner. In a town where so many are blasé if not smug about their positions in government or the media, Tony always seemed almost childishly amazed that he routinely dealt with the most powerful people in the world. You sensed that when he talked of interviewing a top administration or congressional official, part of him couldn't quite believe it. He retained that middle class Ohio sensibility. He reminded me of an old Air Force mate who would jibe me with "You can take the boy out of the country but you can't take the country out of the boy." The guy meant it as an insult. I took it as a complement. Tony would have agreed with me.

Somebody today said that Tony showed us how to live and then he showed us how to die. Tragic, but very, very true.
