The admins here seldom post messages highlighting untrue posts, but this one is different.

There was a post here about using *77 on your cellphone to reach a public service agency.

Check snopes.com for details on this. It is not true.

Also, please, please check your posts of this type thoroughly before posting. By not checking you may inadvertently affect somebody's safety. Just because a trusted friend sent it to you does not make it true. Please check veracity.

The untruths you spread to several thousand people on this forum could be dangerous to them.

*FHP will connect you to the nearest Florida Highway Patrol using your cell phone. I used this # once when we saw a woman being chased after what appeared to be an argument.
