Sprayer???

A few nights ago at about 9:45 p.m in the Lynnhaven area there was a truck with a hose attached to its back which seemed to be spraying some kind of fog at the houses as it drove by at about 6 m.p.h.

It was a rather noisy contraption and was wondering what it is? I thought it was a street sweeper before I saw it. This was just when I heard going on another street in Lynnhaven.

Whoa Taz, you had me scared there for a moment. I missed the r in the subject line and thought you were saying that a truck was coming thru Lynnhaven "spaying" everyone. :yikes: I was worried that this was some kind of CCR enforcement policy.

Thinking about the "spraying" though, Lynnhaven is next to Ashland. Could the spraying be to protect you from Mc's gators and rats that were infesting her village?

My guess is they are "fumar"gating for mosquitos....bet they do it in the still of the night so we don't know they are there. We always thought there was a protective bubble over TV to keep bad bugs and bad guys out.

I saw a news clip the other day from other parts of Florida saying the skeeters are pretty bad this year. Not noticeable in TV.

Muncle....alas, a spaying machine would be pretty ineffective and unnecessary in a community of 55+ residents.

Yes.. it is a skeeter repellant. The Villages will spray a couple times during the summer, usually after 10 or 11 at night.

Thanks. This could have been between 10 and 11 p.m. That sounds logical for what I saw. Had been wondering if you should be out and about with your dog while they are doing this, so I cut my walk with my dog short.

I was scared half to death..I heard a very loud machine outside my lanai..It was ..11:00PM..I had NO clue what that was...

I had the Police here and the Village Watch..

Might be a good idea to wash your car if it was left out when they spray.

I thought what could be going on when I heard that noise from a couple of streets over from you, Donna, while walking a dog in that area.

It is kind of noisy when you are outside near it but I would guess that many people would not be able to hear this truck if they were inside with the TV on loud or asleep.
