Oxford Self-Storage must be one of the last, if not THE last, of the Mom-and-Pop owned self-storage businesses in our immediate area. We are a local charity who approached them last year with our need for several months of storage to prepare for a fund-raising garage sale.

Knowing they are a small, locally owned self-storage company, we were hesitant to ask them for the donation of a storage unit. But we did, and they were so incredibly gracious about it, understanding our need and being willing to support our community charity. We needed a unit for only four months, emptied the unit after the four months for a very successful sale, asking our buyers to support them as they support us.

Reluctant to again ask them, their being a small company, we approached the new big corporate self-storage facility that opened recently near the Charter Schools, figuring they would be in a better financial position to offer us one, thus not depriving of the small, locally owned Oxford of potential income. You can read in another post how badly this new facility treated us, at first promising us a unit—and then changing their minds with no explanation after we had spent considerable time preparing to move in.

So we returned to Oxford Self-Storage and could not believe how gracious they were yet again in providing us with a unit at no charge! We are presently storing our huge amount of stuff for our sale that will be held next week (April 17-18; see the posting under the "Garage Sale" listings). We urge everyone with a need for self-storage to support Oxford, just as they support our community through their help with our local charity.

These are just good people—and that says a lot!!!

We have had space for quite some time now (which we pay for), at Oxford. Very nice people with which to deal. It is rare that someone else is at the desk and it's always good to deal with the actual owner.

It is interesting to note your sole response to this positive review of a self-storage facility in our area, in contrast to the number of responses to a negative review of a different such facility. We are very grateful to Oxford Self-Storage and are happy to share this with others, which we believe is one of the purposes of this forum.

I appreciate your signature quote from Robert Service: "A promise made is a debt unpaid." How true—and how appropriate—but clearly not part of everyone's belief system!

Hi – I am a representative from Compass Self Storage and we do not believe this is our property that you are referring to. We have worked with numerous charities since we opened our store in November 2014. We also do not have a staff member with the title of Regional Manager. If you do wish to discuss any concern regarding Compass Self Storage, please contact our District Manager to discuss further at (352) 399-6893. We look forward to continuing to serve and work with our community members.
Thank you!
