Had my first Lovebug sighting of the season today. For you new residents who have not experienced this before, get ready. And make sure you wash them off of your car. I can personally verify that their smashed bodies eat paint. Encountered them on a trip to the airport last year for a 10 day trip. They got a 10 day feast on my car. A good time to use shuttles to the airport when they arrive in quantity.

During lovebug infestation (usually May and Sept) I don't wear white, I wish my home was not a color that appears almost white (they congregate in the shady areas), I carry a spray bottle solution of 25% - 50% white vinegar mixed w/50% - 75% water, a microfiber cloth, and start cleaning anytime my speed exceeded 35 mph or if my vehicle was parked more than 30 minutes. The male is hanging on to the female until she discards him (he is smaller in size).

They look like the airline company that I retired from because they "FLY UNITED"!

Saw them on the golf course flying around and attacking my golf cart.

Yup!! My wife and I were at Pinellas Plaza in our golf cart today and saw them too.

OMG... lol.... My husband and I have been here a week... we are frogs and have my mom with us. Today we were at Johnny Rockets and my mom was all in Yellow. Well... ahemm.. I think these little creatures are drawn to that color. lol.. They insisted on "meeting" on the back of her blouse. My husband and I had never seen them up close and personal!! lol... God Bless mother nature!!!!!! :wave::wave::wave::wave::wave:
