We have a diabetic dog who gets two shots of insulin per day and the used needles really pile up. I put them in the proper container but my vet wanted $10 per container to dispose of the used needles. Does anyone know of the proper way to get rid of them that will satisfy the EPA rules and regs? Thanks

Get a sharps container from the pharmacist at Publix or Winny D. When the container is full, take it to any hospital and they will have a receptacle to dispose of them in. At TVRH, the receptacle is just inside the Main Entrance door. Put the container in its box and wrap it in a plastic bag or something. That's it.

The pharmacies called the Medicine Chest also will take them for a reasonable price.
