My friends recently purchased a pre owned property and although some vines hanging from a trellis had been chopped down, two different seed pods were on the ground. They are very lightweight, and we can hear seeds inside the paper type pod but are reluctant to plant until we know what the vegetable or fruit, is. They are about a foot, and 18" long. I sent an email to the agriculture extension, but no reply yet. Anyone recognize what these are from?

Possibly a Dutchman's Pipe vine.

Take a couple of the pods over to the Master Gardners who are available for questions at the county building on 466 & Morse. Give a call to their office for the open hours.

Thank you. I'd sent an email on Friday, but hoped someone on TOTV would be able to give me an answer in in interim. Both pods are sizeable, not little green pea sized things.
